i like to try new drinks sometimes when I'm in Vegas. I prefer vodka, rum and champagne but I'll drink gin too. I'll only drink tequila in a margarita (....one too many......no twelve too many tequila shots at a party when I was 20... bad memories). Not a fan of bourbon or scotch. We normally stay mid strip, anyone have an interesting drink I could try at say, Cosmo, Bellagio, Caesar's, Cromwell, Ballys, Paris or PHo.
I spent a couple of hours at Golden Tiki this afternoon . Great drinks. Not far from the strip, in Chinatown. A Tiki bar in Chinatown seems odd and it is odd. Cool place though.
Vesper Bar in Cosmo has a Dealer's choice option. You just chat with the bartender about what you're in the mood for and they make you something. Also, Jaleos in Cosmo supposedly has 4 of "the best gin and toncis you'll ever have" on their menu.
Both Clique at Cosmo and the new Dorsey at Venetian make some mean cocktails. Both make a really good Swedish Air Mail. I'm a vodka guy so haven't gone down the rum road but both places have pretty interesting menus, sure you'll find something you'll like. I'd say the bartenders are more personable at the Dorsey.
I'm sure you've already heard of it but everyone (especially me) loves the Verbena at the Cosmo. I've also recently discovered a delicious and refreshing poolside drink that would be perfect in Vegas - coconut water and vodka. Refreshing and rehydrating yourself while getting toasty - kind of a perfect combo.
