I saw a bunch of these at a local flea market a couple of weeks ago, Today a co-worker said it the new 'hot toy' for kids. He was at the Mall of America this weekend, one toy store was sold out. The other store had some. He said it was like 'ants on candy' so many people were buying them. Cheap ones from a plastic bin, no packaging, $12. The ones in the display went as high as $60.

When I saw them at the flea market I didn't have a clue what they were.

I got one for my 16 year old son who has Autism. Within days my other kids wanted one so they each have one. We paid $8.99 for ours at the gas station.

I'm a teacher, and every time I see a kid with one now I want to shove it where the sun don't shine. Kids claim they're good for helping with ADD/ADHD. The only problem is, of course, that the blessed thing distracts everyone else within a 15' radius.

Co-worker brought one to work this morning. Fun for a couple of minutes. Best part was when he asked the other two guys what it was. One of them figured it was part of a folding chair.

Young guy with six kids came in, he knows what it is. Called it "the destruction of America".

So how do those things work? It spins while you hold some sort of center axis and that has a calming effect?

yup. middle has a wheel bearing kind of thing... when you get good like me you can balance them on your fingers (think like spinning and balancing basketball on your finger) and take a snapchat video of it at the same time!

Since Wal-mart and local gas stations started carrying them they've become the hottest device to smuggle into our local school!
A colleague even hosts a spinner club after school.

The fidget cubes are the only ones that cause commotion in my classroom, mainly due to the side that has a clicker that I can hear from anywhere in the room!
Doesn't bug me too bad, just keeps me on my toes...:D
