I haven't been to Vegas since 2011 and I know things are always in flux, so, I'm wondering; what is the best Chinese food joint in town, these days?

Seriously, not trying to be rude, but it really depends on whether you're looking for "real" Chinese food and can tell the difference, or you gravitate towards Panda Express or P.F. Chang's.

As an example, in 2011, what was your opinion of a "good" Chinese restaurant?

A little more upscale than Panda Express would be nice. As I recall, the Chinese restaurant in the old Imperial Palace was pretty good.

    Chinese? Asian? Thai?

Le Thai down town is good.
I like Noodle Exchange at the Gold Coast.
    Aloha Spec at The Cal
Anything in the Chinatown area on Spring Valley
    The New Lucky Dragon

I've been a big advocate of Pearl Ocean at the Lucky Dragon. Chengdu Taste in Chinatown is also good as well if you like spicy food.

My opinion, having eaten at both. Both are very good, but between 3X and 4X the "going rate" in Chinatown. I won't pay $24.00 for a bowl of pei don sau yook jook . . .

If you don't have a car, you're pretty much stuck, but if you can make it down to Sahara, Lucky Dragon has some good Chinese restaurants, also, Ping Pang Pong at Gold Coast has just undergone a major renovation, and as previously mentioned almost anywhere on Spring Mountain Road.

There is no such things as a "bad" Chinese restaurant in Chinatown, at least not for long . . . . .

Since I eat Chinese food at home much of the time, I typically don't spend much time eating at Chinese restaurants in Las Vegas, but you can't go wrong at any of these places . . .

For strip casino Chinese restaurants, besides the two listed above, I've eaten at Beijing Noodle No. 9 at Caesars, Pho Da Nang at Rio, Hong Kong Cafe at Palazzo and Noodle Asia at Venetian. All are good and moderately priced.

And BTW, the reason I asked about Panda Express and P.F. Chang's is because MOST Asians don't consider either to be a "Chinese" restaurant.

On the strip, I think Blossom at the Aria is really good and Beijing Noodle #9 at Caesars is excellent for something more casual. If you like hot pot, the AYCE at the Palms is excellent.

Thanks for the feedback, that Beijing noodle joint sounds good. I wish I could remember the name of the joint in the old IP. The service was great and they had an amazing lobster Cantonese. I wonder if they re-located to some place?

    My favorite 3, although I haven't tried a few:

Traditional Chinese: Ping Pang Pong (Gold Coast)
    American Chinese: Chin Chin (NYNY)
    Thai: Lotus of Siam (Offstrip)

We make it a point of going to Lotus of Siam on every Vegas trip. It's really that good.

I haven't tried Wazuzu, Lemongrass or Le Thai, which are 3 places I've consistently heard pretty good things about.

Lemongrass also has some very decent dim sum on the weekends.

Dim Sum is (mostly) Cantonese (Hong Kong) bite-sized food typically served during lunchtime. I think Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dim_sum) gives a good summary of the usual dishes served, although it makes eating dim sum seem a lot more mystical and exotic than it really is, at least in the U.S.

I take it then that ONE person would not order Dim Sum?
