Jack Casino - Cleveland

Does anyone have any experiences with this place since they took over from Caesars? I will be in Cleveland the first weekend of December for the Christmas Story 5K and 10K and was wondering if the casino was worth visiting since the change took place.

I visied the "JACK" last July. I didn't see much change in the place. Mostly $15 and $25 BJ. Some $10. Average to poor pay tables on VP. Seemed to be plenty of people playing. I would give it a shot, though. I did get a Royal Flush there last year and Quad A's with a kicker in July! Can't say anything about the food. Haven't eaten there.

Not as busy, the Library (Diamond Lounge) is still a good bet.

 

I reside in Cleveland and basically they put lipstick on a pig although the old pig was very charming and worth a look and maybe even a cocktail. Try it out again though. If you dont want to eat at the casino (theyve drastically reduced buffet prices the last 4 months) then check out East 4th a couple hundred yards away for a good meal. I recommend Chinato. If you have a car, there are many great suburbs to visit within a 5 mile drive. Enjoy the race.

 

We went last week and enjoyed ourselves very much. We played slots for three days, my wife came home even and I hit a $1,400 jackpot on the standard Buffalo game. I came home only a couple of hundred down. We had 3 comped nights at the Ritz-Carlton. The race was a real hoot with all the various characters from the movie running. We went over to the Christmas Story House, it was mobbed!. We spent an hour or so in a traffic jam in front of the house and wound up turning our car off and talking to some of the neighbors who were extras in the movie. A great time with them!

The Jack Casino is located in the old Higbee Department Store on Public Square (The one in the movie) it was all decorated with the original department store Christmas decorations.

We met and spoke with former Speaker of the House John Boehner on Saturday morning at breakfast. A very personable guy. I asked him how he like retirement, he said "Great!".

 

I never went in when I was in Cleveland at Easter to watch the Indians. Hopefully on my next trip I will take a look in there.

 

Interested to here your take on the place. Jack took over the new casino in Cincinnati also but been afraid to go from all the complaints about how tight the machines are. Plus they severed ties with Margaritaville.

 

I live in Cleveland. I basically never go to the Jack. Rarely. The reason is I don't play slots,
and the VP is crap. The do have 9/6 Jacks or better at the dollar level. Or they did, last I was
there. Too rich for my blood. But since it is the only joint in town, it is play by their rules or don't play.
I don't play. I just go to Vegas where I have options. The table game limits are too high also. For me.
Stupid name, JACK. WTF!??

But I did rate the buffet as good as some of the one on the Vegas Strip.

 

You find a $10 table during the week day. But on a big game night. Yep $25. min.

 

• The slots are tighter than the CET's in Vegas in the downtown Jack, which in my opinion is the dumbest name you could pick for a casino. And they never did build the new casino they announced years ago. The Jack at Thistledown Race track is a racino, no card games. it was super tight when CET operated it. its 10 times worse now.

 

Jack has been feast of famine for me. If you look in the Ohio Casino Control website, their slots have clearly gotten tighter. However, I have had some decent handpays there. Talk to the dealers and they are happy to tell you how cheap management is now that they are Jack. Buffet quality and selection has dropped. They also got rid of two upscale food court choices for their own mediocre ones.
