I've been thinking a lot about this lately and interested in seeing what the others have to say. For what I'm looking for I'm really torn right now between MSS Cal and ST. The reviews I've read on Cal have been great plus with the remodeling going on. Looks like the East Tower will be finished this summer. Sam's Town I just like the looks of things there. And assuming that gambling will be pretty similar between the three I'm really torn.

Home for gambling is and always has been Boar's Head at MSS. But, with the remodeled Cal rooms in the West Tower, that is now our favorite place to stay. Then walk over the bridge to MSS.

off strip, I like the Orleans. nice enough rooms, large casino, good pai-gow, decent BJ, nice pool area and affordable feeding options.
downtown, I like the Cal with their remodeled rooms and on-site pool. nice dealers at the table games. I like the reasonable prices in the café and the food is good. most of the staff there is nice enough, except the front desk crew. they have bad attitudes, or attitude of indifference.
Boyd's recently turned cold towards non-locals, I am still trying to like them, but a bit reserved.
with Vegas posting record-setting visitation numbers all of the time, comps and offers will probably only get worse.
and look at me -- I am still going 4 times a year.

    none.
As Boyd cuts offers, I am in the process of moving on.

I like the Orleans but haven't been staying there as much in the past 2 years. I used to get 2 free nights 3 times a year but nothing in the last 2 years. Mind you have gambled less there. Like Jejas mentioned Boyd seems to have cut down on the offers. Also the price of rooms are getting up to Strip levels. For example I found the Luxor to be over $100 less with all fees for 4 nights. What used really like about the Orleans was the reasonable cost and no Resort Fee but that has all changed.

So which casino still has good offers? Guess for me since I'm not a big player (only red chip) I don't get many offers anyway but in April when I visited I got many free buffets for my low play at the Boyd casinos (Cal, MSS and Fremont).

As for which casino I like, I definitely like MSS best. Crap tables offer 20x odds, some of the best downtown. The Cal (and Fremont) only offers 2x odds but many people play there because they want to make it to the golden arm club.

As far as which Boyd hotel I would stay at I would call it a toss up. I don't want to pay an extra $12 a day to stay in the Cal's renovated west tower rooms. After they renovate the east tower if they also raise their rates then I may consider MSS if their room rates are lower.

I don't like the Fremont because the rooms are smaller (especially the bathrooms) and they only have valet parking. I always rent a car so I rather park myself at the MSS or the Cal garages.

I don't like the Orleans, GC and Sam's as much because they charge resort fees (and Orleans and GC are more expensive than downtown), plus I like downtown because it's so easy to go from casino to casino.

    The Cal is my favorite

    1) Love the new sportsbook and bar
    2) Aloha Specialties is a favorite of mine
    3)Friendly staff
4)Enjoy eating at the Redwood bar especially the escargot

Dad brought me to The Cal around 2006-2007 and really enjoyed the place from the get go. Probably stayed here 20 times and will continue even if Boyd cuts me off which they haven't done yet.

Orleans for just the size and variety. Easy drink comps at all the bars.

I wish I could take the gambling gods from MSS and add them to Orleans!

I like the Orleans rooms better but the gaming better @ MSS.

My gambling game of choice is craps. I don't stay downtown though

    My top two

Cal - Golden Arm Wall of Fame. Someday maybe I can make it. My favorite dealers are here, and 90% of the players really know the game. There are three tables and they can all be open when it is busy and this is during daylight hours. You know when a table is cold because all the known players will be at one particular table. The bad part is when the Cal is breaking in new dealers and some of the regular players really have no patience for that. I can understand it too, because the new dealers really slow the game down, especially when the table is hot. This then causes the regular players to get angry and go on tilt, which then changes the vibe.

Gold Coast One of the pit bosses here used to be down at the Cal. There are a few regular craps players here but it is mostly locals and a few tourists. I like their sports book. I like their proximity to Palms and Rio. I can take the free shuttles from Gold Coast or Rio to the strip. Again, three craps tables but not as many players know the game like players up at the Cal.

    The others

Main Street Station - it is attached to the Cal by that Skywalk. I have played craps here for a change of pace. But I prefer the Cal.

Orleans probably has the best Sports Book, but, oddly enough, I have never made a bet there. I like sitting at the kitchen counter in Big Al's Oyster bar. Order the clam chowder in a sourdough bowl and let the chef pick which one, Manhattan or Boston. I prefer the Boston Clam Chowder. I have never gambled here.

Alliante(new boyd acquisition on the far north side of Las Vegas) might have a better sports book, but I have only driven by it never stopped in. I might make it this trip as my wife will be with me and we will be playing tourist and renting a car. She doesn't really care for gambling, she enjoys shows, fine food, and playing tourist.

Not a fan of the Fremont. Never been to Suncoast or Sams Town and no idea where they might even be.

I've always enjoyed MSS, staying and playing. I like to play craps at the Orleans, it's my favorite Boyd place to gamble and have some drinks, the atmosphere there is great, staying there was just ok.

MSS is my favorite place to gamble downtown on video poker and craps.

Fremont and cal have a better slot selection.

Only stayed at Fremont I like it.

Main Street is my favorite so far. But we have a comp room at the California in August so we'll check out the new-ish digs. But for craps odds, MSS. For video poker, MSS. The California seems to attract the better craps players tho....

Orleans because of familiarity. I like Gold Coast, too. I was bored by Suncoast and haven't been to Sam's Town recently enough but I wasn't impressed the one time I saw it in the nineties. Downtown, I only like MSS but there's not enough happening there to hold my attention. I think Aliante will be one of my faves if I ever get there to see it.

I have only been to Sam's, Orleans, Suncoast and Gold Coast. Gold Coast is/was my favorite, but I'm mad at them now.

What I like about Gold Coast...
    1. Noodle Exchange and Ping Pang Pong:feedme:
    2. I have been there enough times that I get around without getting lost.
    3. Young at Heart Day and point multipliers!
    4. They used to be generous with room comps even to low roller me.
    5. It's easy to get back and forth to the strip on shuttle or city bus.
    6. I like their selection of older Aristocrat slots.
    7. Palms and Rio are in walking distance in case you need to escape for a while.
    8. I get better play time there than Orleans.

It seems Boyd has listened a little to the complaints recently as new offers have been posted for July and August and offers can be used at any Boyd property LV not just the one you play the most at.
