Me (35) and my wife (29) are doing a one night stay in Laughlin at the front end of our next Vegas trip just to see something different. Despite our age we're the kinda people who got a kick out of exploring places like Primm, Jean, and Goodsprings just because they are offbeat and novel.

We will have one full night arriving early evening and the option to use most of the next day as we see fit? We gamble mostly table games and are active enough that we'd be into hikes, boating, whatever.

Amy things we should make sure to hit while we are there? I also need one good dinner and breakfast recommendation.

Glad you like hiking because it's a bit of a walk to see all casinos there. Harrahs being the longest walk but a nice walk between casinos along the side of the Colorado river.

I know the have a river boat Cruse but not sure if you can rent ski jets or paddle boats but you see then on the river as well.

Of course all casinos have table games and you will have many opportunities for that. Don Laughlin's casino has a shop with old slot machines and cars to view. Most casinos have a VP bar with a window wall overlooking the river. The Davis dam is there but not sure it offers the San experience as Hoover dam. Not sure they even have tours there. Huge mountains are on each side of Laughlin offering a nice rustic look. But other than occasional concerts I am not sure of any places to visit. I have heard of a very old town on the bullhead city side of the river but have never been there.

It's just very laid back in Laughlin compared to vegas. Hope you enjoy your visit.

Davis Dam is puny compared to Hoover.

Get the taxi boat between casinos. That's a fun way to get around.

Harrahs has our favorite buffet. Edgewater and Colorado Belle has bad buffet.
You need the Riverside players card to get into the car show for free. The old slots and some cars are in front by valet .The bigger show is upstairs.
For an old west feel go to the pioneer casino. Lots of candy in the gift shop. Sassy Sues bar. Even the river front has a different feel than the other casinos.

I second the river taxi... just remember it stops running around 9 or 10 at night (can't quite remember the exact time).

IMG_0594.JPG IMG_0590.JPG The pioneer has really good breakfast at the bumbleberry restaurant. We were just there last week and had this Bloody Mary. This is the view from our table.

Laughlin is a "Stop the earth and let me off " kind of place. It's nice to just get a huge buzz and watch the river. IMG_0677.jpg IMG_0688.jpg
