Yes, you are in the system. MLife cares less about ADT and more about overall play throughout your trip. Not playing or not using your card won't reduce your stay by a night in their terms.

Generally yes. Depending on property, even check out day counts.

Yes, once you check-in, you are in the system and it's a gaming day. Unless you booked and paid for the reservation and didn't you your MLIFE # at all.

How about for other companies than Mlife?

    • CET
    • Boyd
    • Stations

    Anyone know?

    CET, same

CET, same thing as MLIFE. Anytime you're on property and card is swiped and/or account accessed, it counts as a gaming day. For example, if you're not staying there and just going to the diamond lounge, it counts as a gaming day.

Exactly this for those that are just passing through. But its important to note that if you are staying comped, the meter is running for the day the room is reserved in your name. So if you have a comped room for Monday, but actually check in at midnight making it Sunday, Monday already counts against you.

And since you are sucking on that corporate comp tit, the checkout day will count into your trip as well.

Now if you pay for your room, don't draw a casino rate and don't give anyone your players club card. You will only be active on days you use your card. In other words, you will be rated higher. You wont get hit on check-in or out days since they don't know you, the player, is on property without a swipe.

In other words, comped room for 2 nights is 3 days rated. If you play on $10K on Mon + $10K on Tues and checkout Wed morning, thats $20K div 3 = under $7k per day on your "trip". If you get in late on Monday and dont play at all that day, but gamble $10K the next and leave on checkout. You are now $10K div 3 = just over $3300 per day and lower rated.

If they dont know you are on property, you didnt use a comp. You can no play Monday after checking in late. Play your $10K the next and checkout like normal. And you are a $10K a day player.

But what good is fluffing your ratings if you arent using the comps that come with such (like giving up a free room) LOL

Casino day and Hotel day are 2 different days. Casino day usually starts 6 am to 6 am and count only with your players card inserted. Hotel check in or check out has nothing to due with your gambling day starting and ending.

That's not what he was asking.

He was asking if checking in late at night triggers a gambling day in your ADT, and the answer is, if your player club account is associated with your reservation, yes it does. So there's no reason to avoid using your card when playing during graveyard shift in that situation, even if it's going to be a much smaller amount than a usual full night.

I am comped for 3 days and paying for the 4th. I am arriving at midnight the first day and leaving at 5:00 a.m the 4th
How would this be considered as far as gambling days?
I am a second shift schmuck on salary so I make an appearance on Friday and take a late flight and not have to use any PTO
I leave Vegas early Tuesday morning and get home in time for work so I don't have to use PTO on that end either.

Should I look at making my trips more of a noon to noon type of a deal? We typically make 4-5 trips a year so saving PTO seemed to make sense but maybe I am shouting myself in the foot?

    Damn confusing Mlife program

    LOTS OF CONFUSION HERE.

CET does track average DAILY play, so each and every day matters.
MLIFE tracks play over multiple days, so in most cases adding a day does not matter.

What is very difficult to figure out is how many days is an Mlife Trip?

I don't disagree with the comments made here but that check out day never made sense to me. I mean they are kicking you out of your room at 11 so with a casino starting day at 6 am, you have 5 hours at best. Checking in at midnight has about the same effect but that's is within our control for booking a late flight.

In your original description, these are your "for sure" gaming days at an MLife property:
    Friday
    Saturday
    Sunday
    Monday

Why? You're booked in the hotel those nights.

Tuesday? I dunno. A lot of people talk about MLife "trips" vs CET "ADT" but still nobody's ever defined what the difference is.

In any case, the OP and your post both seem more concerned with the arrival night, and in both cases, it counts. Whether your checkout day does or doesn't count, there's nothing you can do about it anyway.

And just because a particular day in a multi-day trip counts doesn't mean you need to play a particular amount during that day. You can make up for it on other days.

Its just another way for the casino to screw you, lower your value as a player and end up giving you less.

They know you are on property, they gave you that free room after all. If you are there that morning your "trip" is still ongoing. I dont like it either, but i still know its there. Short days suck, but the same can be said for your 1st night on a comp.

Most reservations state check-in is 4PM. You fly in from New York, your body knows it is really 7PM "your" time even though its 4PM Vegas time. You get your room, you are jet lagged, you play for 4 hours and crash. Check in day is rated. Most players fully understand that.

Checkout is at 11AM, your New York state of mind says that's 2PM! You are up and at'em at 7AM local time. You put in 4 hours and check out.

So its the same story. On the clock.

I'm sure the casinos know that most people do not check out and immediately leave the property. So if you understand that check out counts, maybe you'll continue to play.

4pm checkin? Okay, that is the official time, but lots of folks checkin before noon or even early afternoon. We have done early morning, mid day and even had to wait until 5pm. Just depends.

Checkout day: Sure you may have to be out at 11 or 12 - but you can still play a few hours with no problem.

Sure, I wish they did not count those, but.... they do. And as said, nobody seems to know if it matters at Mlife or not.
