    Woo hoo :woohoo:

We are a couple days ahead of a schedule we really didn't have on our three week cross country road trip. This is due to the amazingly comfortable seats in our rented Malibu.....Mrs. Rusty is generally a four hour rider in the car but she has been so cozy in the Malibu we have done a couple eights and ended up out west a little earlier than planned.

Had planned on a couple more days in the Utah parks but Mrs. Rusty didn't realize how close were to the magnetic field of Vegas and we are being pulled in. I had a mailer from the M and with the discount we are at just about a hundy a night including resort fees and taxes with a last minute booking.

Always wanted to try the M, have played but never stayed due to the fact that it is a William Hill Book, not really a fan. But.....since we really are only football bettors this works great. May throw a little cash at a couple baseball games and a Warrior game but not like we bet football.

Anyway.....leaving Blandon Utah for Sin City in an hour or so.

    .....here we come.....

You mind posting a few pics of the room. Considering staying there in August for a few days

If you're a "camper", that's good. If not and you don't have a car,

I wish the M was a William Hill book as that would be far superior to what they are...formally Cantor now CG Tech, but by any name the sportsbook is terrible. Even though the M is our "home base" and we love the casino and food options, we are driving all the way out to Red Rock for Kentucky Derby Day only because of the sportsbook and lack of customer service at the M. Have fun.

OK....well, I guess that worked with the photos.....

.....but this is a considerably better description, and was pretty much our room. 10-115, the odd numbers face the Strip.

    http://www.themresort.com/hotel-rooms/classic-one-bedroom-suite

Rooms are a huge part of our Vegas experience, we have lucked out several times with suites and we are pretty low rollers......the twenty dolla' holla' and a players card has done us well in the past, Caesars, Venetian, Rio, Sam's, Sunset Station......and now the M. The M suites are every nice bit as nice, and the cleanliness is exceptional, another thing that continues throughout the resort, floors, doors, machines, bars and restaurants are squeaky clean. I would think the standard rooms are the same.

Regardless of getting a suite again I think we are now 100% M Resort converts.

From our intitial call to the resort to inquire about rooms to check out we felt appreciated, comfy, and welcome no matter our budget or style. I mentioned it was our honeymoon when checking in, so that may have registered with the check in process, and the hotel was not very full, but hey, something worked.

I admit to not checking odds thoroughly or gaming research but I am pretty sure BJ is 3:2. We play Deuces Wild .25 VP and the odds there are not as good as we have played, bar top Royal with deuces pays 100 on max bet versus 125, so that is not as competitive. JOB was 9-5 ??????

There is a resort fee now, $19/day, but parking is free and the resort fee now includes a shuttle to their sister property Tropicana. ( still grrrrrrr on resort fees ) It is funny how far it is from the Strip, I think we passed the Trop exit off 15 and it still said 5 1/2 miles to The Rose exit for the M. We just stayed in the fast lane all the way out.

azbob......yes, you are right, now CG, was Cantor, not Hill.

The Book was the only downside for us, odds were competitive, but not being part of the hotel leaves out some of the perks. No credit for play with the hotel, just with CG, and $300 to get a drink ticket, no tipping for favor there, and the writers were sort of meh personality wise.......not like my favorites at the Mirage. We just bet off property on sports.

We only ate at Burgers and Brews for sit down, good stuff and good happy hour, and the Vig Deli was great for drunchies......the upscale places looked really nice too. Mrs. Rusty grabbed breakfast sandwiches and coffee somewhere too, just not sure where, but good also.

I just can't say enough good things about our stay, it was perfect for us, our new home base.

Any questions, let me know

VideoPoker at M is not very good, for an off-Strip place. They don't even have 9/6 JoB.

So glad you made that detour to the M - that night time view showcasing the pool and Vegas strip lights is really something!!
I'd bet it was your charm more so than the twenty dolla holla that got you that sweet suite! Loved to hear it was exceptionally clean, cause that is a must for us when trying new places.
Happy trails on the rest of your journey - always love following along! :biker:

We love M. Usually it's just a stop on the way into town for Studio B, but every year or so we book a stay there for a couple of days just to unwind.

It's true that M's VP pay tables are not as good as Red Rock/GVR/South Point, but every day is double point day on VP (+0.6% cash back) so games like 8/5 Bonus ACE$ become 100% games. Also easy to earn a free buffet and you keep your points.

Hey Rusty, thanks for the room pics! Confirms my hunch that I should try the M. Love the look and style.

I always rent a car and just prowl around the city, so the location wouldn't be a drawback. Speaking of the car situation, how long was the walk from parking?

IMG_1414.jpg We parked right outside the lower entrance in the lot.

Our walk was well under a fifty yards to the building, depends on how full the lot is I guess. Then up an escalator to the main floor, maybe twenty yards to check in, and the room elevators are pretty close to check in.

We parked in the lot, didn't even check to see if there was covered parking. Where we parked there would only be shade around the perimeter under the trees. If it was summer the car would have baked for sure.

But, again, short direct walk, from the lower lot.

They do have free valet if you'd rather. We did that for check in, so that was nice.

Last I was there was Super Bowl and they did have some machines that paid 125 on deuces and some decent 8/5 bp machines but only a few. One of them is the corner midget machine at the bartop that has all the draft beers. I hope they are still there anyway.

Covered parking is to the right of Baby Cakes in the above photo.

One of the best shows we ever saw in Vegas was at M. The whole valley was getting hit with lightning from a series of thunderstorms, so we sat in our room (high/odd) with drinks and just watched the light show for a few hours. Was magical.

I always park in that lower lot when I stay at the M. You can walk directly to the room elevators on that (Spa/Pool/Convention) level.
