I use uber up on the north Shore of Mass. I have used both in LV and both have been good. If you just signed up for both you should have promos for both. From the airport I found lyft a little cheaper but w/n a buck or 2.

After your first ride you can send a promo code to your partner and if not signed up that will get a ride credit. When they use it, you should get a credit back. That would be a free or discounted ride on both. So 6 discounted rides

    Give them both a try

    See you Sunday.

I use the GOA2B app in Vegas and Lyft has always come back as the cheapest option.

I have found both services to be good but based on price I have used Lyft.

A driver who works with both Uber and Lyft said she prefers Lyft as the drivers receive a higher percentage of the fare and the fares are slightly lower for the rider on Lyft.

If you are a first time user, you should use both and your first ride with each company should be free or close to free :)

I prefer Lyft because its a little cheaper and they do a bit more in the way of background checks on their drivers (or at least they did a few years ago when I started using these services)

I like Lyft a little better - many drivers drive for both, but I find Lyft to have the edge on pricing and promos.

I favor Lyft a bit more because of their business practices but will use both of them interchangeably.

I've been using Uber for the past year. Fist in Vegas last year, then here in Illinois since. Its been good to me. I have signed up for Lyft, but have never used it. Based on what others have been saying here, maybe I will use it for my next trip!

I haven't used Lyft yet but will consider based on the advice from the folks above - thanks.
Do they have the same map/GPS functionality that shows where your driver is, their car type etc?

I prefer Lyft. We've had a couple of less than satisfactory rides with Uber.

    It's usually slightly cheaper too.

I have used both in Vegas. I have found Lyft to be cheaper and more efficient and reliable. Their APP is better also.

Yes. It even shows you a little picture of your driver's face and vehicle

From an experience standpoint there is virtually no difference at all...both apps work great and as previously mentioned, a lot of the drivers do both. I've used Uber in my hometown as well as Philly, Chicago, and numerous times when I was in Rome. I just used Lyft for the first time in Vegas last week, mostly because I found the rates to be slightly cheaper than Uber in almost every case.

For the $$ factor alone, Lyft>Uber. Either of them are >taxis!

I seem to get more discount offers from lyft, for example 5 rides with $5 off each ride, etc.....I seem to get emails at random times offering me those discounts

Only time I use ride share is when in Vegas. Lyft is much preferred.

I definitely prefer Uber and their cars are newer and usually larger. I have tried both but have experienced two shady drivers with lyft and none with Uber.

It might be a dollar's difference but at the end of the day it's the experience that counts for me.

Me also. I don't care for some of the shady things Uber is doing in their business model.

I've used both, and am pleased with both, but have also had long-hauling issues with both. BUT that is totally dependent on the driver...both will have occasional issues, and both are great about fixing issues if you write in.

I probably like Uber more, BUT Lyft lets you tip in the app (vs. cash)...and due to this, I often veer towards Lyft in Vegas. I believe in tipping, and I HATE dipping into my bankroll/cocktail tip-roll for transportation tips, so being able to tip in the app is HUGE for me!:poker::drunk::blowkiss:
