So I'll in in Vegas from 4/30-5/4. Two of those nights will be solo. Now, I am no newbie when it comes to eating solo. I travel for a living and anytime I am on the road it is always dinner for 1, usually at the bar of whatever restaurant I go to. This truly being my first ever solo (partial) trip to Vegas, I am unsure on where to go for dinner (lunch too would be ok by me).

Anyone with any recommendations? I don't have any cuisine that I do not like. I am one of those lucky ones that will eat and try anything. All I ask is please do not make it overly expensive. There is no need for me to spend $100+ dollars on myself for dinner. (I've been known to hit White Castle every night on my trip last year for a drunken snack). I'll leave the higher dollar places for when my cousin arrives later in my stay. Thanks in advance!
    Rob

Last time I went solo 75% of my meals came from Earl of Sandwich.

A lot of my trips are solo so I have spent many a time dining alone. I like places like the Grand Lux cafe at the Venetian and Palazzo, Planet Dailies at the Pho, the cafe at the Bellagio, Harrahs buffet (based on price vs quality of food) and several of the pizza places dotted around the Strip. Many of the Strip casinos have food courts instead of cafes; the Fulton food court at Harrahs is fairly new and I have heard several people say they like to grab a bite there. The Ri Ra pub in the Mandalay shoppes has always provided me with a good meal; I sit at the bar and the bartender takes care of my food and drink needs. There are lots of places downtown; I like to eat at the counter at the Market St cafe at the California...decent, inexpensive food and fast service.

I eat very healthy at home so go for mainly junk food in Vegas. On solo trips I usually have one nice sit down meal just to get at least one vegetable. I am all about food on the run so as not to leave the action. I find the Bellagio snack bar to have some great options. It is quick and hot. Lots of different wings and pizza. I just love diner and deli food, those places such as carnegie deli are great. Most of the sandwiches in Vegas are so huge you can take 1/2 back to the room for that midnight (or 3am) snack when you stumble back to the room too tired to wait in line for food.

    Enjoy!

It really depends where you are staying and your transportation situation.

If you're south end of strip go to NYNY. They've got Sirrico's Pizza, or New York Pizzeria, or Greenburgh Deli, or Broadway Burger Bar and Grill, or Tom's Urban, or Shake Shack, or America.

Plenty of options at NYNY for solo eating. Well... plenty of options anywhere, really. If you've eaten solo before then it's really really easy to do in Vegas.

I've seen the Earl mentioned in tons of trip reports. I forgot about it. I'll add it to my list and see about hitting it up. Thanks!

Thanks for the recommendations. I noticed others in other threads mention Planet Dailies. Pretty sure I will hit up Grand Lux sometime while I am in town. I haven't been there in at least 7 years. Maybe 8. Thanks again!

I'll keep the deli type places in mind. If I'm close to home base, The Flamingo, I'll have to make sure to keep my left overs. I could always use a midnight snack! Thanks!

Oops. I did forget to mention that. My home base this trip will be the Flamingo. My feet and Uber/Lyft are my transportation. Looking for places on the strip or downtown.

I figured it would be easy to do in Vegas, but just nice to hear what others recommend. I know I'll be down on that end of the strip so I'll keep all of NYNY in mind. Thanks!

LOL!!! I love White Castle. Grew up (not threw up) on it. Since I haven't lived close to one in 20+ years I get it when I can. It is an acquired taste, or so I hear.
I've put Hash House on my list for when my cousin shows up. I hear that the portions are huge so looking at splitting a couple of things with her. Thanks!

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll give those menus a look over before I head out on Sunday. Maybe add one or both to my list. Thanks!!

Ellis Island is a short walk. Their village pub has good food with low prices. When I used to stay at bally's, I would walk over every morning for breakfast. Ribs at good at their bbq restaurant after 4 daily.

If there is a wait for dinner, they have decent vp pay tables starting at $0.05. Decent microbrew.

Many restaurants have bar seating so really no need to limit yourself because you are solo. Some casual places that are comfortable for solo, dining have been mentioned already; Planet Dailies, Grand Lux, The Henry, China Poblano. Holsteins at Cosmo is another option. Many nicer restaurants also have bar seating. I have eaten at N9ne solo and didn't feel uncomfortable.

Ellis Island!! I forgot all about that place. I took a buddy of mine out there about 7-8 years ago for dinner. We had the steak special. Beers were good. Thanks for the reminder!!

Yes and no. I figured since I had about 2 solo days on this trip I might see where others have eaten solo and give something new a try.

Well, I figure after my recent weight loss that a all liquid diet for two days might not be the best. The drinks sneak up on you quicker after loosing 60 pounds. But hell, I can get all of my calories from Stouts and IPA's. Wash it down with a whisky and water chaser!?!
