For the hardcore gambling and drinkers out there. Talking about sessions of gambling and drinking for 12 to 18 hours. How do you keep your mind together and continue to enjoy Vegas?

I usually begin my gambling around 1000 or 1100 am and first drink about 15 minutes later. Finish the gamble around 0200 or 0300. The wonderful cocktail waitresses usually bring a drink around every 20 minutes.

After about beer 5 or 6. I add a water to my order and at beer 8 or 9 add a caffine pill to the mix.

How do you gamble and drink hard and survive?

If I'm just drinking beer its not hard at all. As long as I remember to eat and drink some water here and there I can drink for 12+ hours and easily put down a 30 pack. The hard part is making my money last for 12 hours.

I am hard core gambler and drinker.
I usually can have 12 hours of gambling per day, or even more.
    And I drink a lot.
By drink, I mean drink water, not alcohol, that's my secret to survive, both physically and financially.

I just keep drinking. I let it take me where I end up. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. A red Bull and vodka can help for energy

I call BS, you dont drink 1 every 20 min all day long, you start out that way for a couple hours and then you maintain, about half that rate with a meal in there somewhere. And by the way, if your drinking effects your play, you're not a hard core drinker, or gambler.

i used to go to pedialite after a few but I have found that zip fizz that I buy from Costco works wonders coupled with a bottled water here and there and it tastes better, and yes you need a meal somewhere throughout the day but I'm sure I throw down a 30 pack in that amount of time and I wake up the next day feeling fine usually but I am a pretty heavy drinker body and daily wise if that makes any sense.

I'm an early riser normally at home and being an east coaster, I'm usually hitting the casino floor between 5 and 6 am. I usually have Diet Coke in my room and will have at least one before heading down along with crackers and peanut butter to coat my stomach. I start out with a few greyhounds as it is what I consider a breakfast drink. I do like a nice morning buzz but no longer enjoy feeling "drunk". I switch to water until the buzz is gone and start all over again. Maybe that isn't hard core drinking to many but it is to me. I drink fairly steadily for 14+ hours. Oddly enough having wine with dinner is the one thing that can send me into a pretty tipsy state. I now have to hold off drinking the wine until some food comes.

Usually up very early too. Will make a coffee in the room then head down to the casino.

Generally have couple hours early on 6am drinking and gambling then head off somewhere for breakfast. We casino hop and drink mostly all day unless any trips planned.

Usually head back to the hotel we are staying in and gamble some more, generally slots at this point as I have had a skin full by then.

Sometimes end up on auto play with my head on the spin button on my favoured slot :)

I don't/can't/won't "keep it together" in Vegas.. I pretty much stay drunk/drugged up the entire time I'm there; from the moment I guzzle the rot gut champagne Presidential Limousine provides for the Airport Transfer Package - I don't quit, because I always honor my commitments. Is this a wise strategy for bank roll management or spending cash in general? Fuck no. Is this good for me health wise? Double fuck no. Then again, I never go to Vegas to count calories, or pinch pennies, or be a pantywaist tea totaler.

Write your room number on your shoe someplace and carry sunglasses in your pocket. When you start seeing old ladies at the table, go look for food and water before making your way back. Be careful not to fall down.

I qualify for your question... I typically gamble about 14 hours each full day I'm there.
    The drinking?
Well - here's how it goes:
6 AM to 8 AM: coffee or Red Bull on ice.
8 AM to 9 AM: Breakfast with water & coffee.
9 AM to 2 PM: Light beer (mostly)... + a few 'real' beers along the way. I make sure to add 1 bottled water every hour I'm at a table.
After 2 PM, I'm usually drinking gin & tonic...
I get some dinner sometime around 7 or 8 PM. No booze with dinner - just water.
After dinner, mostly G&Ts, with a few beers mixed in here & there... probably all comes out to about 20-30 alcoholic beverages over the course of the entire day... which typically ends around midnight... so, about 18 hours total time awake. At 25 drinks, that's about 1.5 per hour.

For most people, they metabolize one drink per hour... and for me, I can have 3 in my system at any given time and be fully functional & playing well.
So - subtract out the 18 drinks my body metabolizes, and that leaves about 7.
But with the dinner meal break, I gain an hour with no intake, allowing me to subtract about 2 from the "influence" total... that leaves 5 in my system that may influence me...minus the 3 that I know I can handle ok for an hour, that's only 2 over.

Trust me on this... vast majority of the time, there will be two or three sessions where the cocktail service is poor enough that I'm not getting 2 per hour... plenty of my sessions only net me one drink... not because I don't want more, but because they simply aren't delivered before my session ends.

On a few trips over the decades, I have gotten myself into trouble (playing blackjack) by drinking 'too much'... but those are mostly when I was younger... and almost all of those were on my first day getting to Vegas... where the drinks at the airport & during the flight gave me a 'head start'.

    I like your methods topcard!

I typically play early morning craps with a screwdriver, or bloody mary if I'm in a decent establishment. Switch to water and coffee for breakfast. From there on I drink light beer with the occasional IPA mixed in for some flavor. Might switch to liquor in the evening depending on what sounds good at that point. No wine for me in Vegas, makes me tired. As others have mentioned, hydration is key. I always have a water and mix in a pedialyte every 4 hours.

I don't have gambling issues when drinking. I can still recall perfect strategy for BJ and VP when drinking and I don't lose sight of the bankroll.

I like your style, and respect the keen mathematical "bioanalysis" of your alcohol intake. I know with me, considering that drinks are free, many times I dont even finish the drink/beer before I move on to the next casino. I would imagine that some of the anti-alcohol crowd that consider anything more than 4 drinks to be "binge " drinking are reading this thread in horror?

On any given Sunday when football is on, my husband and I start out at the sportsbook (Cosmo) at 9am. First drinks at 9:30am. We usually do have a base breakfast of either Earl or Eggslut. My husband drinks vodka red bull all day switching to just Red Bull every 3rd drink I go between bloody Mary's to then Diet Coke and then martinis. I will bring him food throughout the day. We won't leave until the last play of the last Sunday game.... then we do a dinner and continue onto table games or craps. Usually back in room by 1am. We don't feel it is a waste or we are missing anything. It's what we do there for. He loves to gamble on the games and watch the games.

My doctor once told me that any more than 3 per day would have to be considered "binge" drinking!
    I literally laughed at him.
Told him, "I guess that makes me a binge drinker then."
(Big mistake, as my health-insurance profile now reflects that very thing).
I know plenty of people that have issues with how much they drink - and I mean they drink a LOT...as in 8 or 9 beers + 3 or 4 shots every single day.
My 4 beers per day 'average' is practically tea-totaling by comparison.

One of the things I truly appreciate about my Vegas trips is that I can allow myself to cut-loose a bit on my alcohol consumption... I don't have to drive anywhere & I don't have to go to work in the morning... same reason that I allow myself to smoke cigarettes when I'm out there... it's "because I can"!

I would never condone/endorse a daily lifestyle for anybody that resembles how I live when I'm in Vegas!
But for a few days, 2 or 3 times a year? WTH not?

Dr's, schmockders, i went to the dr to get a suspicious mole looked at and the first thing he wanted to do was shove something up my ass(I'm 50+ and never had my colonoscopy), I know there are some really good ones out there, but a lot of them have agendas that have nothing to do with helping patients, my then 85 year old mother had one that wanted her to start cholestorol meds(high buck ones).

By the way topcard, I know people who when they have 8 beers and 4 shots, they're just getting started. If that poor dr spent any time in a bar he'd know the truth.
