Other than here, the AC forum on Trip Advisor may be the best.

The AC version of the Vegas Gang podcast is Due for a Win.

If there are, I've yet to find one online. Tripadvisor has the "Atlantic City Travel Forum" and there is some good information to be had. However, there are many folks here on VMB who frequent AC when they can't be in Vegas. Like me.

I guess if you have any specific questions, just fire away. Where are you staying?

We are staying at Harrah's. We get free trips (airfare/hotel) through grueninger travel to beau rivage, laughlin and ac.. this is our first trip to ac though. We had the choice to stay at ballys or harrah's.. Ballys is on the boardwalk I think but from what I could find in a quick search was harrah's hotel was a little nicer. We will be playing a little slots, blackjack and visiting and playing some poker, probably at borgata for that. We also rented a car so we can drive around and check things out. How is parking, do you have to pay for parking at the casinos?

I was there last month and yes just about every casino requires that you pay for parking if you dont have a certain level status on your players card.
    Safe Travels.

Resorts and Golden Nugget do not charge for parking. With summer coming Resorts may change that though.

There's a Facebook group "everything AC casino" but as Hammie said there are plenty of AC regulars here who could answer most any questions you have.

Looks like that's a junket operator, so they likely fly into Atlantic City Airport. Having a car will be a plus, but if you plan on just going between Harrah's in the Marina and to the Boardwalk casinos, you might want to just use a cab or uber. If you spend $75 on food at Bally's or Caesars, or accumulate 25 points, you can print our a voucher for free parking.

I prefer Bally's because of its boardwalk location, but Harrah's is very nice, try to get Waterfront or Bayview rooms. Not sure if the pool has reopened yet, it was closed for a renovation. You will like Borgata, it always has a great vibe and the poker room is big. Plus, they have a race book if you like yelling at the ponies on a tv screen.

Looks like the start of the week will be nice weather, hope you have a winning trip. Would like to hear about your trip and what you think of AC.

As mentioned - the folks here are a good resource and TA. Also @Blonde_4_ever has a subforum on her site where people have AC TRs.

Thanks for the info all, another thing, how is the bed bug situation there? I am really paranoid about that whole thing. I have read that harrahs had them in 2012-2015 or something like that but don't see anything from the past year.. Anyone have any insight on that? What precautions do you all take for bed bugs? thanks again!

I've never run into any in any of the properties where I've stayed.

Never had an incidence in AC or any of my other travels.

What has been your experience in your previous travels? Did you inquire about bedbug infestation in Reno or Biloxi before those excursions?

Just because you read something on the internet, it doesn't mean it's true!

That is true sometimes, but bed bugs are a real problem the past years.. my sister actually has them right now in her house.. and its EXPENSIVE to get rid of them.. and very tough. I do not want to bring any of those bastards home with me lol

I've stayed at Harrah's many a time in that period and I never saw one. Other than the crazy flying bug situation at Mandalay Bay a few years ago, I've seen exactly one bug of any sort in a hotel room. They may not all be 5 stars, but I try not to stay in anything that would likely have them. That said...

I ALWAYS check the mattresses before I do anything. I put the suitcase on the rack and leave any bags near the door or on any non carpeted area and start my check. I check all over, including the floor around the bed and the corners of the room near the bed. My SO had them once courtesy of her brother who had an (according to him) a new mattress and box spring he didn't need. Took about a week before they were fully noticed and identified. Those suckers are horrible. Hor. Ri. Ble. Tossed the mattress and box and they were still around. Got what I labeled an industrial strength steamer and some blue can of bed bug spray. Every chance we got we steamed every nook and cranny and then sprayed behind it. Maybe a month later they were gone after reading they were impossible to get rid of. With some things I'm not a huge believer in the impossible.

Anyway, I enjoy AC. The ocean and the boardwalk are two things you can't get from any other gambling destination, and they are fantastic. No it's not perfect, but I've yet to have a trip where afterwards I say, "yeah, I'm over this".

Have a great trip and good luck!
