I'm pretty excited to be heading back to the Holy Land at the end of July for 6 glorious nights!

Booked the first 3 nights at Wynn... it's been forever since my last stay there and I was waiting for a special occasion to book it again (as I don't get comp'd there). The perfect one came up... gf's birthday! So I found a decent rate which comes with 3x points and 2 free buffets. Works for me!

And for the last 3 nights of the trip I recently got an offer for a comp Scenic Suite at Delano which I am very happily taking advantage of!

The question I have regarding Delano is access to the pool. Can someone let me know if it's a long haul to get to the MB pool complex from Delano? Also what is the route to get there from Delano...do you have to go through the casino? I've looked around but couldn't find anything specific to this, however I know we have many experienced Vegas professionals here so I'm confident and appreciative of the help!

Yes, you have to go through the MB casino to get to the Delano Beach Club. You just look for the signs pointing to MB Beach and it is the first pool after you check in at the complex...it is kind of a pain to walk through the casino, but the pool there is really great!

It's roughly a 5 minute walk from your room to the pool. There's really not a lot of twists and turns, it's basically a straight-shot and down the escalator near the lobby.

Ya I'm pretty excited for it too! Happy to hear you had good experiences at Delano. It's probably been close to 10 years since staying at Wynn and never stayed at Delano or Mandalay Bay so I'm definitely looking forward to it...especially the pool complex. I can see myself spending some quality time there!

JR, just got back from Delano, fantastic experience overall. Had a Scenic Suite and loved it. Since you are a comp guest, they almost always give you a high floor, north-facing room with a great view of the strip (verify at checkin). The views at night are great, but the gold overlays on the windows do block out some of the light. If i could give one negative to Delano, it is the minuscule amount of shampoo they give you. Also you dont get the top shelf soaps and shampoo they advertise on the website :( . A tip for cutting a lot of time off the pool access, go out the Delano lobby, toward the valet pickup. You will see the doors to Mandalay Bay out there at about your 11 oclock. Go in those doors, and stay to the right. keep walking toward the convention area, past Starbucks, then take the escalator down to the pool. From here, go left and follow the path. You will then see the main pool entrance. Here they will swipe your room key and check your bag (just dont have any glass). Once inside, the Delano Beach Club is the first thing on your right. They will ask to see your Delano room key. The Beach Club is fantastic, no crowds, plenty of comfortable loungers, and cocktail servers everywhere. The DBC also has its own bathrooms. At the far end of the DBC, opposite the entrance, there is a door you can exit from where you can access the MB hot tubs, wave pool, and Lazy River if you are inclined. Enjoy. Delano is an awesome Property. Bathhouse is also a must. Even if you are not into massages and such, get the day pass for $30 and enjoy the steam room and therapy pools (cold, warm and hot). Very relaxing place.

Any other MB/Delano questions, feel free to ask. I have stayed there many times.

    Thanks for the great info!
I appreciate you sharing the alternate pool route and general pool info... I plan on making that trek daily :)
I'm also happy to hear about your experience in the scenic suite... being my gf's birthday I was planning on calling ahead to let them know in the hopes that they would do their best to guarantee the high North facing room... it's good to hear that from your experience there's a good chance of getting one.

Btw...did anyone ever tell you that you look like LeBron?

Ha! I wish i looked like LeBron instead of a 43 year old guy who looks like his diet consists only of chicken wings and burgers!!!

A couple other things I forgot, did you make your reservation through VIP Services? If so, you can check in at the room to the left of the main registration desk. they have refreshments and pop/water in there all day. The people in there are great at what they do, can book spa and restaurant reservations.

You MUST go to Skyfall around 6pm if possible to watch the lights come on all up the strip. They have great food/drink specials. You almost never need reservations during the week, especially at that hour. The elevator is just inside the entrance to Delano from Mandalay Bay. And another must stop are the restrooms up there. You will see what I mean when you go. ;)

Awesome, I will plan to check-in there... and I looked at Skyfall online, looks cool and was something I was thinking of checking out, but will definitely make a point of it now... looking forward to visiting the restroom! haha

Definetly visit Skyfall! Even if you go a little later 7:30/8pm...it's won't be that crowded yet (but you might miss the food and drink specials if they have them earlier in the evening..)

You probably have my dream visit (with adding in 1 night at Cosmo). some notes fro both properties
    Delano
Agreed on the shortcut via parking garage to the pool complex. It is still a hike. If you gamble a lot - I'd try calling VIP services and get a discount on a cabana.
Rooms are awesome, very nice TV and in room technology, beds are super nice.
Delano lobby is like walking into another world....
Check out Della's cafe for breakfast - very nice menu -custard pancakes :)
Check out RiRa pub (between MB and Luxor) - best fish, chips and mushy peas.

    Wynn
You may be offered upgrade to Encore - if you do not mind the extra walk - I'd take it.
there is alot of construction at Wynn, so maybe a room with golf course view would be quieter.
Allegro at Wynn has the BEST lasagna

You have an awesome trip planned.

    Thanks for the tips!
I've stayed at both Encore and Wynn towers in the past and preferred the location of the Wynn tower... rooms were great in both, just felt like Encore was a little out of the way and a lot quieter...I like some action and an energetic atmosphere which Wynn seems to provide better than Encore.
I'm assuming the construction you're referring to is the new mall area out front between the two towers? What I have booked is a Deluxe Panoramic View room which is supposed to be on floor 28 or higher. I'm hoping for a Strip view...so I'm thinking the noise shouldn't be a problem...hope I'm not wrong!
I like lasagna so I just may have to check out Allegro :)
I still have 3 long months to wait...the anticipation is going to kill me haha

The Lasagna at Allegro is better than even Sinatra. Although Allegro is more of a casual place (being on the casino floor), where as Sinatra is very elegant.
I Just remembered - Allegro will be close to the construction. I doubt the construction will be that bad. One thing i have see from Wynn is that he always keeps construction "hidden" from his guests.
Also check out the "mini" fountains he has outside. Theya re just outside the walk from the shops across the bridge to Palazzo. They are colorful and are going 24x7 with music.

I noticed these fountains on my last couple trips... they are pretty cool, not quite at the Bellagio level haha but I liked the fact that they didn't stop...so no matter when you're walking by you can enjoy them!
