That is wild. My fitbit has me at 21,224 right now and that includes a 4.5 mile walk this morning. 40K had to have you worn out.

The most walked steps in Vegas are...the escalators! :D

I've only tracked my steps once. It was a day my wife had no pockets so I carried the cell phone.
I believe I was about 33,000 for the day IIRC.

Interesting thread idea, momo325. Thank you!

Dang, 40k is a lot for Vegas. I'm on my feet constantly and get about 27k per day but I doubt I get much above 15k or so a day in Vegas.

Out of curiosity, I just looked at the entire last year. Oddly enough, it turns out the days I typically got the most steps (~45k each time) were the days before I headed out of town on a trip. I recall some of those days and I'm not sure how some people find the time to get up to 60, 70, 80k steps in a day unless they're running long distances.

For a while I was carrying a pocket pedometer and the most I ever did (don't remember the numbers) was the trip when I stayed at the Sahara and went to a conference at Mandalay. The walking trip itself, via Monorail and tram, from Sahara to Mandalay Convention Center, was about a mile on foot.

to be honest, i was surprised myself that it got to the 40k mark... my Vegas trips are usually 30k-35k...

dont recall it being tiring... but i did walk up and down the strip like 4,5 times that day....

and all my most steps walked records are all from Vegas

37k November 2014. Stayed at the Delano (never again) and MGM (also never again) and walked between those properties and various midstrip properties numerous times that trip. My plantars fasciitis was so bad, I actually contemplated using a wheelchair on the last day.

I was averaging 29k steps during my last 14 day LV trip.
By day 10 My feet and legs were so sore I passed on pre-purchased concert tickets!
It was room service and a marathon of Tiny House Nation and Married at First Sight with my feet on ice.
Luckily they were much better the next day.

We usually walk a lot so I'm not sure why my feet and legs were having a tantrum.
Could just be age I suppose.

On my shorter trip last November we used Lyft and Monorail and my average steps were 12k....huge difference!
I feel like we did more stuff than usual even though we walked way less.

I can only imagine what ive done during the SEMA show in November. we take the monorail from ballys to the convention center but that place is huge and walking up and down each isle, then when show is done for the day we hit the strip between PH and venetian...maybe Ill check this year, lol

42,276 (~20 miles) on my last trip

I stay downtown, and every trip I do a walk from downtown to Mandalay Bay and back, including winding through the various properties. That is ~15 miles. That day I had a few extra miles of roaming around the strip before the walk back downtown.

25.6k average steps the 4 full days I was in town that trip

Pace-based trackers can be way inaccurate (overestimating). For the average person, 40k steps is 20 miles. Twenty. Miles. Think about it. A person would have to loop the Strip many times to make that happen, or like 98 just above, do the Long Walk.

My wife had a cheapo pedometer during our last trip and the most she got was just over 36,000 steps. Since then we each bought a Fitbit so I'm very interested to see what we'll get. We love to walk and walk and walk. I'm going to see if I can get the highest number... I better start training!

I thought we walked a fair amount. Had 21,400 back in March which was 10.1 miles. Four hours of walking it says.
