I am so sorry for your major loss. I have a feeling that the surgery was not necessary.

Your family members' experience has taught me today not to believe the money hungry doctors that
I need surgery. I am also talking about us in America. We have those kind of doctors here too.
They tried to do brain surgery on a senior that didn't need it. So we all have to be careful now.

When my adult son died all of a sudden it broke my heart forever. So I know how you feel too. Lucy

    Our thoughts are with you.
That's way too much trauma to keep bottled up.

Joe, I'm just echoing what others have said already. So sorry that you are going through this. It's almost unimaginable. Hopefully venting about it here helps you. I will keep your family in my thoughts.

    Joe,

Very sorry to hear about all this. What a tragic series of events. Please vent all you wish if it helps. There's really no fairness to life and sometimes we need others to help us through the roughest times.

The hospital's demands were typical. I did business in Mexico for years and dreaded the possibility of ending up in a Mexican hospital. They do exactly as your brother experienced. If you are American, they demand a U.S. hospital-sized cash payment up front. Problem is, even if you come up with it, the care is often not U.S. standard. For people who travel abroad, particularly to third-world countries, a policy from someone like Medjet is worth considering (that's what I had). It doesn't solve the hospital problem, but Medjet will literally send a private jet with medical staff to take you to the U.S. hospital of your choice.

Hang in there guy. You've got a lot of friends here.

Joe, I'm so sorry to hear this. You and your poor family! Vent away; we can't truly share the burden, but know that we're kicking at the darkness with you.
