This year it's September 10. How busy is it this weekend? Would I be better off holding out to the 17th, when the crowds will thin out some?

I will be staying at The Mirage.

You should be able to get a good idea on how busy they expect to be by looking at their room rates for those 2 weekends.

Just doing a quick look, the weekend of the 17th cost about twice as much. I'd go the weekend of the 10th then.

Opening NFL weekend isn't really draw, especially since it is right after Labor Day weekend. Football Saturdays and Sundays, generally, make things busier, but the opening weekend is no different form the several that follow it

I go every year this weekend and not a problem at all..seems Labor Day weekend is busier from the staff I talk to..Have heard good things about the Mirage sportsbook but EVERY Sportsbook is packed to the gills by 10 AM...Around 8:30 AM is probably the latest to find a seat of your choice and have not a long wait in line to place some bets..(info you probably know already, just thowing it there incase)

Orleans last year I got down there that early, got my fav seat at a VP bar, then joined a growing line of betters that snaked around.Bets in and back to the bar by 15 minutes till 10..
I try to put in some bets the day before, but something always comes up and I'm in line Pre-Kickoff...My fav day of the year!!

I went 2 years ago during the season opener. Average weekend. I think that next weekend is when there's usually a music festival or something the kids go to.
