Just read a trip report where a person went to Reviv for an IV and it helped.
This is the first I have heard of this place.
Who else has actually used this place to cure a hangover or to prevent from getting sick?
Do you do the IV or shot?
Do you just get the Ultraviv (Hangover IV) or go for the Royal Flush?
I recall I would have gladly pay the fee a couple of times while in Vegas.

Wow. I can't believe someone would do this. IV something into you just because you have a hangover? Just drink more water.

If you have resolved a hangover simply by drinking water you didn't have a true representation of a Vegas Hangover.

I don't drink enough to need hangover remedies but I am so sleep deprived in Vegas some of those infusions seem appealing to me.

I worked with some medics who told me about giving each other IVs to feel better, I think they even had a name for it, but I don't remember. I've seen the IV places and the prices seemed way high, but it's not something I would use so any price is too high.

I have lost the better part of many, many, days after excessive drinking until 4 or 5 am.
It does not happen as frequently now but I think it is worth the price if it works.
Probably does not eliminate it but I have had days where 60% relief would be amazing.
Hope I don't need it on my upcoming trip.

If you are that hungover the only real choice is to brace up and drink some more. Maybe if they put beer in the iv it would be better.

I have not used one but have wanted to try it. There was a trip report on here recently where a family went and the 21 year old daughter did the IV and she loved it and thought it was wonderful.

As to someone who said "just drink water" when your in a hospital and need to get fluids in you, why do they put you on an IV instead of just giving you water to drink??

As a fireman, I would suggest just staying hydrated and saving your money. We've occasionally(rarely, though) started IVs on ourselves, but that's because we fight fire in a very hot climate in the southwest, and have gotten dehydrated despite keeping on top of our fluids. Fighting fires in 110 degree weather will do that. You can minimize alcoholic dehydration by drinking plenty of water prior to, as well as eating right. And staying away from caffeinated products, of course.

The original question was mainly directed toward something extra water will not resolve.
We are talking the next morning holy shit the strip is still spilling.
You know where you have to walk as slow as if you were walking a tightrope because if you walked any faster you would get dizzy, fall and puke.

I get 3 nights in Vegas and on rare occasions that 2nd day is spent moving like a 90 year old who shit their pants and its 6:00pm that night until I can eat anything without being worried that it will come right back up. This leaves only one more solid day of Vegas left. You can bet I would have gladly paid those prices to get back that extra day.

I've seen a similar response from many other medical (and related) professionals, but I have yet to encounter anyone who could make a case against the practice that didn't essentially boil down to "You shouldn't be able to avoid the consequences of getting that drunk". Is there a reason that IV hangover treatments are inherently a bad idea, or do they all stem from value judgments about how one should drink and/or spend their money?

well, there are more consequences to getting canned than a hangover, and the IV isn't going to fix those other longer term medical consequences.

Okay, but nothing inherently dangerous about the IV in and of itself? I'm... asking for a friend.
