I just got home this evening from after my trip and here are my observations

    1) Its too damn quiet here, I miss all the lights, the sounds and the throngs of people everywhere. Now my excitement is seeing a car pull down the street.

    2) I'm wondering where in the hell the cocktail waitress is at. I've got my $ tip ready to go and they haven't come by yet.

    3) Time to start planning it all over again :woohoo:

I usually feel the same way, but after being back for a few days. After 5 days in the desert with the "overstimulation" going on there I always love the feeling of walking out of SFO into the cool and fog and relative normality.

Then after a week or so I start to miss Vegas and start the process of ramping up for the next trip in a few months. The endless Vegas cycle...

    I get it, Publius!

It takes a few days for me to get accustomed to the way things go at home.

As I trudge up and down my stairs I think, "It'd be nice if someone would fix these darn escalators..." :grrr:

I find myself trying to tip my UPS man, napkin salespeople, or whoever comes to my door. :shy:

After a few days I'm back to normal, or as close to normal as I get.

I still long-haul myself to work, though! :D

I miss not being able to walk around everywhere drinking beer.

Though not specific to Vegas....but these are the observations I make once back at home:
    1. There is no In-N-Out Burger, Bruxie, Earl of Sandwich, etc.
    2. I don't get to see tons of lights/billboards that make me happy.
    3. I don't get to hear the slot machine sounds.
    4. I don't freely use my credit card when back at home.....which kind of is a good thing, though!
    5. I don't get to choose which rental car (or car, for that matter) I want to drive around

Things I realize. Back to ROUTINE...and that stinks! In Vegas there are no boundaries, no set time to sleep or sleep, drink when I want to, having to drive somewhere to gamble, etc.

Always looking for the next Vegas adventure.

I've been told that I reside in a state of suspended animation between Vegas trips which could explain a lot.

My alarm wakes me up each morning. I hate being homex for that reason.

One thing I do LIKE about being home...is the feeling of MOISTURE in my nose!
    Vegas is too dry!

I agree with Blonde about the dry air. But at home nobody makes my bed and picks up my towels. I have to cook my own food. And worst of all the cocktail service SUCKS here. I've been waiting for my Captain & Coke since October!! ;)

When I get home I step on the scale and become baffled. I walked everywhere and got a morning run in 2 out of the 3 days and only ate 2 times a day (although big meals) but somehow I gained 3 lbs.

    Truthfully, I always feel down.

It's back to the humdrum and routine, normal life is nothing like the excitement of Vegas!

My big thing is once I get home, I think how too quiet it is and that I also really miss when going downstairs instead of going to your family room/ kitchen/ etc..a casino awaits you...

That my bathroom is really filthy..But It's mine to squalor in till the next trip...same for the rest of the place...It is nice to sleep in your own bed though after coming home until you get over the jetlag and back to work blues...(And reading this board way too late when you have to be up early for work)
