i been to Mandalay Bay only for MJ One show and thought hotel looked pretty nice but never had pleasure staying there...nor played their casino either. So we decided to stay there upcoming trip and got Sky View Suite; all pictures were look pretty good, did they had updates recently? I hear it's on penthouse level which offers lounge that serves water soft drinks etc? Can some one confirm this?
We did had dinner at Kumi, which we thought it was an excellent!
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

They are nice, high ceilings, plenty of room. I stayed in one a few years ago. The decor was a little minimalist then, pictures on their website indicate they've been redone with a little splashier theme and upgraded TVs.

Primo view right up the strip would be in the "2" wing with an odd number room. 62-223, where 62 is the floor, 2 is the wing, 23 is the room number. That's the room I had.

There was a lounge on that floor, right off the elevators, I never used it, I think it opened in the late afternoon. The bell had to "break into" the closed lounge to get ice, there was no other ice machine on the floor.

One of the best things about it was there's an unmarked bank of 4 elevators that service those floors - never had to wait for an elevator to get to my room, and I think I never even had anybody else on the elevator with me the whole stay.

There is also an elevator in the back of the high limit table area to get up there. Based on a few times there, the lounge was only open on the weekends. AND - just because you are on that floor does not automatically get you lounge access. Make sure you are coded for that.

lounge has full bar, serves light breakfast and snacks later.

Very timely post as we've also booked that room type for our visit in June.

Thanks for the info..yeah I was introduced to a host and she is the one who got the room for me (did mention that I had access to "lounge" which she didn't get into details, just said I had access to it) but I also heard they don't open 24 hours?

Oh yeah? If this trip works out then we are gonna consider it for our summer vacation as well but need two bedrooms.

You can see in the video the room I was in had a connector. I'm guessing the other room was a single room so you can make a two-bedroom out of the suite, but I don't have access to the floor plans anymore so I don't know for sure.

There is a penthouse level lounge, but its not always open. As you would expect, it has longer hours on the weekend. it gives you a great view of the pools.

One of my trip reports from a couple years ago includes several pics of the suite, so you can ;look it up. It has an insane tub/shower area

just looked thru your MB trip never mind the room but insane game report!!! And what a come back you had during BJ session that's awesome. Regards to room I'm just getting skyview suite I don't think I'm getting great "sex tub" lol. But I'm sure room is still awesome looking. The HL ROOM does it called Lotus Room? Do they have Baccarat table? But no action? I know most baccarat players prefer are Aria and Bellagio.

Yeah, I just went back and looked ta my old report, too. Sorry, I misremembered which suite I was in.

The Lotus room is separate form the HL room (across from it). Its a small room with more Asian themed games, like pai gow and baccarat. There are also midi bac tables in the HL. One is always open, but usually two or more when it is busy. It is rarely busy in the MB HL, though. The only time I ever played there when it was truly busy was during super bowl weekend a few years ago

I walked through Mandalay Bay about a month ago and from what I remember the Lotus room was closed for construction & all the pai gow & baccarat tables were on the floow. Not sure what they're ultimately doing with that Lotus room space but I had never seen it very busy in my 3 or 4 trips there over the past couple of years.

I noticed it was closed off too the last time I walked through there, but I did not know it was closed permanently

Not 100% sure whether or not it's permanent but I think they had the black curtains up which to me suggested they were moving towards doing something else with that space.

I surely do not know, but when they do real construction, they usually put up a temporary floor to ceiling wall to block out noise, dust, etc.

When doing a lower level change, curtains work.

With that said I would guess no walls are coming down or any real construction taking place. Updating maybe? Or conversion to ???.

I was there about a week ago and did not notice any construction at the lotus room. I don't remember exactly how it looked before but did not notice anything new or different.

I stayed in one of these a few years ago and it was very nice. I still laugh that there was pretty much a TV in every room. It did have a hot tub, and after all the walking and squeezing so much in the first day, it was nice to relax in one in the room. Lemme check to see if I still have some pics, too.
