Biggest comeback

I'll keep the title intentionally vague, but tell me about your biggest comeback in Vegas.

For me, I was about a day and a half into my bachelor party trip, and was down nearly my entire 3-day bankroll. I ditched my friends who had gathered around an Imperial Palace craps table, wanting to avoid the high variance there. I settled in at a $5 or $10 Blackjack Switch table at Casino Royale, and watched as my bankroll dwindled down to my last bet. I ended up stuck on something like 17 with a dealer's ten showing, and I had literally stood up behind my chair in anticipation of walking out. Lo and behold, the dealer ends up busting, and that triggers a run where I won back my original table buy-in, plus another couple hundred or so. Bankroll worries were gone for the rest of the trip, as I left town only $50 or so in the hole. Not a bad price for the three-day bar tab!

Good job coming back...it's not easy for sure... mine was actually at local casino I play semi hgh stake baccarat during one session I was stuck for more than $7,000 and I was down to $60.00 believe or not I made that into $8,500.00!!! I was very happy when I reached $5,000 then I pushed bit more then for time and trouble I had to go through so I had to win some money and winning $1,500.00 lol.

 

My biggest Vegas comeback was my first trip, I got to "comeback" home with more money than I left with. I made money the first day and was never down more than $100-200 the trip ended the trip up $3500 after giving wife shopping money.

Biggest gambling comeback was at a local, came in with $500 and could not win an hand to save my life, was playing (BJ, 3CP and LTR. I had about $50 left and just went to dump it in a slot a couple of hits later I was at the Walking dead and hit hit an $800 bonus win walked out up about $500.

 

Small comeback but big win at a local playing paigow poker had $200 to start slowly lost it betting 10/5 down to last 49 bet 25/24 main/bonus hit straight flush for 1200 took 100 to a slot won 987 third spin too 100 to different slot won 800 left with $3000

 

Biggest comeback was once coming back from being down about $70k.

 

As I tried to get in one last gambling session at the old Barbary Coast before I had to head off to
take the plane home, I lost like $400 on Video Poker and Craps. A large amount for me at that time.
Running out of time, and frantic to win some money back. I stepped up to the the BlackJack table
and bought in for 100 bucks that I could not really afford. I started betting 25 dollars a hand.
Normally, I am Red Chip Boy, but now I was Green Chip Man! I got on a hot streak and
in about 10 minutes won 300 bucks! Had to go!
Still a loser, but not so bad. Felt like a win!!!!

 

There have been plenty of times that I've brought an empty chip rail back up over a $1000 at the craps table. On my SB trip this year I had my chip rail down to $3 and cash out over $3000.

 

My first ever trip to Las Vegas was my first time gambling. My wife and I were doing okay on the slots, spending about $40 per day and we were not down by much money, maybe $40 at the most? Yes, we were high rollers! heh. Anyways, we decided to go wild on our last day and we were down $200. We were sitting at a machine together and I was always tempted to hit the max bet button all trip long but my wife just wouldn't let me (when she was looking!). So finally we were down to a smaller amount, only a few spins left and we'd be out of our gambling money. I realized that I had just enough for max bet, so I hit it. My wife smacked my shoulder for being so bold but I won! On a $3 spin I won an amount I can't recall, maybe $100 or $130. Somewhere in that range. So we kept playing and winning. Wound up leaving Vegas that day with $200 more.

We're still not high rollers, but we gamble more than we did on our initial trip. Now when we win $100 on a bet its just old news. But for that first trip, being new to gambling, that was much excite!

 

Mine was during one of my earliest trips to Vegas, when I was perhaps 22 years old. I had almost no money then, and even less sense of bankroll management, which is how I found myself in the unfortunate position of being down to my last 40 bucks (or so) of a $300 b/r on a Friday night at the blackjack table in Paris. I mentioned something about cutting my losses and walking away; the middle aged guy a couple spots over who must have had 10k in blacks on the table implied he'd throw me a few chips to keep playing as he'd been enjoying our conversation thus far. I politely declined, but decided to play my last chips anyway. Four hours later, I walked back up to my room with just over 2 grand in my pocket, which was at that point the most money I'd ever had at one time in my entire life.

 

In my early 20's, I was down to my last $7 on a $3 minimum BJ table and was able to leave with over $2000 some time later.

More recently, I have had two swings of over $100k in a session.

The first was at Encore. I was down over $55k and close to the bottom of what I was willing to lose. I was able to catch a nice streak and went from being down over $55k to being up around $45k. Took my money and ran.

The other story is similar and happened earlier this year... was down $40k at the Cosmo. Wired in some more money and was able to catch another great BJ streak. Went from being down $40k to being up over $60k in less than an hour (even lost two max bets of $10k each on the last hand).

 

About twenty years ago I visited Las Vegas with my (now-ex) wife. She was still sleeping, and I went down and put in some time (take a beating) at Paris, where we were staying, and was quickly down 3 days of my 4 day gambling budget. At that time, I decided to go over to Ballys to try to "change my luck".

I saw a progressive bank of $5.00 Double Diamond machines. I said to myself, well, if I lose this last $200 I'll just have to "cut back" for the rest of the trip. After about 6 spins ($10 a spin), I had DD (Double Diamond) - DD - and the third wheel kept spinning for what felt to be an eternity . . . . . . "Anything, please, just something to salve my wounds". And then . . . . . DOUBLE DIAMOND!!!

$9600+!!!!! It was the largest jackpot I had ever hit (at that time) and I didn't think to get a part of it in a check. I took it all in cash and tipped the two attendants $40 each. I kept my hand in my front pocket all the way back to the room. My fiancee' (at the time) was awake and dressed. She wasn't mad, but concerned that I was about an hour late. I then told her. If, when we're in Las Vegas or any other gambling venue, I tell you where I'll be at a specified time, 99% of the time, I'll be there on time. If I'm not, it's because a)I'm down and clawing my way back, 2)I'm up and pressing, or 3)I hit a big one and I'm getting paid, and with that, I threw the almost $10,000 on the bed. "Time to go to the bank and put some of this away . . . . ", and we got in the car and did exactly that . . . .

 

There have been a few occasions where I have been on my way up to my room after a rough BJ or craps session at the end of the night and did a pocket dump at a roulette table and played all my chips straight up on a number. Two of these stand out. Once, can't remember if it was Mirage or the B, I pulled out a green and two singles and put it straight up on a number and it hit. The other was at GN and I had just lost a little over $400 of my $500 buy in at craps. I put either $77 or $87, can't remember which, straight up on 23 and it hit. That was sweet. I remember the dealer smiling and she said "Someone is going to sleep better tonight, yeah?" She read me like a book. Whenever I do this I have the attitude that losing the extra few bucks won't be as significant as the extreme high I will get if I hit a number straight up. Chasing my bets? Maybe, but I figure I'm there to gamble, and have a little fun, and I don't mind taking a one spin flier once in a while for a pretty good payoff.

 

A few trips ago the gf and I were down maybe 75% of our communal bankroll and it was our last night of a 3 night stay. We usually budget our $ pretty well and leave a decent chunk in the safe which typically rolls over to the next trip as we go every couple months. I didn't have much more cash on me and I was playing .25 video poker for a long time and ended up bumping it up to .50 and about 10 min later I got my first royal ever ($2000). Had them take out $500 for taxes so I was left with $1500 cash. Gave her a few hundred for the slots and went to play some roulette myself. I had a decent streak with a $100 buy-in and the gf came back to check on me and get some more $ so I just gave her a couple of my black chips to cash out and play with so no matter what I'd at least leave ahead. Ended up walking away with a little more and I find the gf on a slot at the end of a bonus round where she won $600 or so. I'd rather have these decent win/win/wins than one huge win followed by nothing...it's fun when you get on a streak.

 

My next trip after that we arrived really late...like 1am. Ended up playing video poker for a good 4 hours and lost a couple hundred, followed that up with the walking dead slot where I lost a hundred, then played the aladdin slot and won about $800...called it a night after that at around 7am. It was a really long day - the drive took about 8 hours from So Cal due to the bad storm and road closures/mud slides - but totally worth it

 

Our trip in November we over spent a few days and were about out of our bankroll with a day and a half to go. We put a good sized bet on the Seahawks at the sports book at the Cosmo, and it was such a stressful game. But in the end we won, used that money that night and ended up turning it into a few thousand on the slots that night at Cosmo. We ended up going home with about half our bank roll, which is winning in my book!

 

Same here. My rack got down to 12 dollars and I fought back to $1100. I originally bought in for $300. Made $800 profit.

A day later I found myself in the same predicament, down to 3 red chips. It was my turn to roll so I threw another hundy on the table to buy a stack of reds. I didn't do too well on my roll but as the dice went around the table things began to heat up. When all was said and done I colored up $1600 on an original buy-in of 300 plus the extra Hail Mary hundred. Cleared $1200 profit.

These are times it pays to hang in there. But there were many other times I wish I did not.

 

Biggest comeback was from around -120k to up +60k. Biggest loss is -220k with no comeback

 

My best comeback was back in the 90's when I was a kid. Went to AC with a $500 bankroll which was a lot back then as is is now. It was an overnight trip and by the next morning I only $20 left. Played videos poker with it and hit a straight flush for $125. Took that to the crap table and went on a heater and left with $4500. Haven't had anything like that since.

 

Minus 300 to plus 1200 in 24 hours. Minus due to first day buffalo losses, plus due to poker and a good slot pull. I generally bet in the same low roller neighborhood, so nothing shocking, but a nice win just the same

 

Last summer, on my last day, I was down to my emergency fund and playing nickle Keno (5 cents per game) when my name was announced over PA system...I won a spin on their promo wheel...$1000 to take home!
