Did not make a bet, but what happens with any Masters bets on this? No bet and all tickets refunded? What if played 1st hole then w/d? SOL and no refund?
That's not a qualification issue. He qualified for the tournament. It's a question of whether your bet is kept or not if he withdraws before the tournament (i.e. elects not to play) http://www.bettingtalk.com/sportsbook-rules-bettors-know/ DJ bets should be refunded in NV. This is consistent with the idea that the event is really being canceled for this golfer.
Actually, it's just the opposite with futures bets. If you bet him at Boyds, you are shit outta luck.
I did place a bet on DJ, for my brother. I don't know much about sports betting. I was downtown and purchased the ticket at Golden Nugget, if not there it was William Hill at 4Q. I hope to get a refund.
Sounds like some books were doing refunds and some weren't. Just tried to find the article I saw on Twitter that said the Wynn was refunding simply because the last time something like this happened it was such a hassle for them. EDIT- found the link: http://www.espn.com/chalk/story/_/id/19095093/2017-masters-las-vegas-split-whether-refund-dustin-johnson-bets
thx for that ESPN link.... Dustin Johnson walked to the first tee at Augusta National on Thursday. The fact that he pulled out of the Masters without ever teeing off resulted in some gamblers getting their money back and others losing it either way. Among the Las Vegas sportsbooks refunding money -- taking the belief that the bet is off if the golfer doesn't play -- are Westgate, South Point, Wynn, Golden Nugget and Station Casinos. Others, including MGM, Boyd Gaming, Caesars, CG Tech and William Hill (the largest Nevada sportsbook operator in terms of number of sportsbooks and market share), told bettors that Johnson's lack of a single stroke in the year's first major championship still results in a lost futures bet. But the future bets are where the big money is wagered, and there's no controversy as far as those books are concerned. Future bet wagers note that "all bets are action" regardless of whether a golfer plays. I will be back in town on May 3rd, I will check on my refund at the GN. I hope they have not changed their mind after 4 weeks. or, I suppose I could mail it in.
Online or in town? Big difference. Some books are repaying the ticket as a push, other places are all "action" on the bet.
