Do you give your host a gift, when they are comping you generously? If so, what? Do you try to find out beforehand what they would like or do you just bring a bottle of wine.

I'd like to give Courtney at SouthPoint something, she has been EXTREMELY generous with us over the years

I give my host a card and cash @ the end of every visit. He takes very good care of us.

I'm sure you will get mixed review.....myself I have host(S) most MGM property's and I have not provided anything special gifts ... however, I did get high-end package of chocolates and give them as gift during Christmas (my local MGM casino only, host, dealers, pit supervisors and Mgr) since I don't deal w host in Vegas too often I didn't get them anything.

I always do a envelope and a big thanks...It takes me awhile when a host either retires or moves on. I tend to see how he or she who replaced my regular hosts works. But on same token I will go higher if I feel I wasn't satisfied ..They know when I walk through door I'm not there to dance

@CaptCampion - In addition to responses you get to this post, there are quite a few more threads on this subject that may be helpful.

Do a VMB search on 'host gifts' (or similar) - then at bottom, check the 'more' box - then select the 'search titles only' box to narrow down the list.

I also think they are appreciative of a personal thank you note as well.

I try and think of a small personal gift and a visa gift card.

Don't really have an assigned host but was helped by one on a NYE trip with getting additional people into the party. We fly out of Louisville so we picked up some items from A Taste of Kentucky....bourbon items.

I am thinking of bringing a goft for my host and wanted to know what kind of things people bring and what value? I am not really trying to get anything extra, just wanting to thank him for his help and good service.

I did the same thing on our last trip to Southpoint. I actually sent an e-mail to a couple of the OTHER hosts, just to find out what she (Courtney) liked. Good thing I did, because I was going to bring a bottle of Oregon wine and they all told me she doesn't drink. I did find out that she is obsessed with Starbucks, sloths, and the Caroline Panthers. Which was useful info, and we were able to get some specific gifts around those ideas. Nothing big, maybe $30 worth of stuff. But well worth it. She was extremely appreciative

Sounds like your host is a male but years ago, we had a great host at the Mirage and I used to send her flowers and you'd think I sent her a new car. She took such good care of us and although I know their job is to "cultivate" the player and get them to play more, she always (IMO) over comp'd us. She was the nicest and genuine lady and I always thought probably pretty damn hot in her day. She used to be a dancer at one of the production shows.

I give a small (8 or 16 pcs.) box of JinJu chocolates upon arrival and if I have a winning trip, a "red envelope" with cash or a gift card at the end of the trip.

I used to give a gift card to my local and Vegas hosts. Now I just give cash in an envelope with a Thank You card. I always get great service from them. My Vegas host always finds ways to get me multiple offers on one trip.
