Love this quote: “We are adjusting the parking rates for a variety of business-related reasons,” said MGM spokeswoman Yvette Monet. “These adjustments are based on market analyses we have conducted since we implemented the program.”

Translation: "People are threatening to boycott our strip properties that charge for parking, but not enough of them are carrying through to the point that it affects our bottom line, so we'll keep charging more, a la resort fees."

"Monet said the company could not determine how much revenue has been raised since the parking fees were initiated."

Sure they couldn't determine the amount! Sure! ;-) Why lie? Why not just say the information is not something the company wants to reveal?

They will raise it because they can.

As to how much they have already made - of course they do not want to release it. They of course know exactly how much they spent and how much they are taking in.

Another money-grubbing move by MGM Resorts. Typical.

An unnamed MGM spokesperson was quoted, " After the overwhelming positive response from our guests, in regards to our paid parking, we began to receive complaints that our low, low parking prices were causing individuals to take advantage of our low price parking that may have not been spending time at our properties and thus preventing our valued guests from being able to rapidly locate a convenient parking place. At the loud behest of our valued guests, and at their request, we are increasing the cost of parking at our properties to ensure that our valued guests will always be able to rapidly locate a convenient parking space so that they will able to more rapidly enjoy their Vegas experience. At MGM resorts we always strive to best deliver as to what are valued guests desire."

I have no excuse for this greed. I have watched this since 1980, when I started loving Vegas, but they have chipped away my love.

    We have seen this before.
Next CET will raise their parking fee.
Next MGM raises their Resort Fee.
Next CET raises their Resort Fee.
    Next, repeat all the above.

Just read this. Have a comp at Aria for five nights and I'm driving out, but with car parking at 15/day and resort fee 44/day I'll still spend $300.

This is such horseshit. I'd like to be in the tax bracket of the dopes in the focal group that they talked to.

Five night comp at Aria? I would assume you are Pearl or higher? Self parking is free for anyone with a card higher than Sapphire and valet is free for Gold or higher.

And, I could be wrong, but I think Mason was being facetious with his post of a "MGM spokesperson"

No sir, my wife and I each took advantage of the Two night stays at Aria via MyVegas. Not sure how we got the fifth?

EDIT: Might only be four nights :0(
