    Hello Board,
I was just snooping around in the Downtown Hotel section and noticed they had a thread for "bargains, secrets, and hidden gems." I figured the strip deserves a similar thread.. Sorry if this is not allowed. But please share any secrets, deals, bargains, hidden gems on the Las Vegas strip... Ready......... GO!

One secret is the mini-mart between the Cosmo and Jockey Club: "There is an elevator bank on the casino level of Cosmo. It's kind of hidden but if you troll the machines against the north wall, you'll see it in a little alcove. Two elevators. Take them down one level and you will be in an eerie parking lot type place. There's a convenience store there and you can get beverages and snacks, including water, a lot less expensively than the casino gift shops. The convenience store connects this parking lot place to the entrance of the Jockey Club. There's no fancy sign or anything. Just get off the elevator and go to your right and you'll see the door up ahead."

Did not get a chance to visit it on my last trip. As far as I know it is still there.

There's a ton of good "secrets" on the Strip if you know what you are looking for

    • $1 Michelob beers at Casino Royal
    • "Secret Pizza" it is a terrible secret but I'm surprised how little people still dont know about it
    • Rhumbar has an $8 cigar happy hour that is a real good deal
    • Most hotels don't scan your room key for pool so if you want to use a pool and you aren't staying at that hotel all you need is an older roomkey to show them
    • Don't pay to go up on the Stratosphere , use the lounge entrance to get up to the tower and from the lounge ride the elevator up to the observation deck
    • Evening call offers cheaper refills if you keep your souvenir cup
    • Most of the "lounges" at hotels are made for people checking in too suites etc. But usually the employees are too busy to pay attention so you can walk in grab a free bottle of water and snack and walked out.
    • And then there's always the way to get on the monorail without paying...

I saw a really cool video to get access to pools by some guy who claims that his son likes to collect hotel key cards but that he just checked out and accidentally left his key card back in the hotel room. They just give him a couple un-scanned cards and off he goes.

The margaritaville nickel beers from 5-6 deserves a mention.

Earl of sandwich at P Ho is pretty reasonable.

Grimaldis in the palazzo is priced like a normal place instead of being extortionate like everything else in the V/P

cromwell has a good weekday daytime happy hour as of the last time I was there. Two dollar beers and four dollar mixed drinks at the main bar from 9-6 I do recall. Again weekdays only. Along with 100 times odds on five dollar craps.

I'm surprised this has lasted so long. I imagine it's packed though.

Not much of a secret but those Tix4Tonight booths on the strip sometimes offer steep show discounts compared to what you can find online.

High Limit bathrooms are much less crowded in casinos.

Secret Pizza I believe is on the 2nd floor of Cosmo through a hallway lined with a bunch of pictures. I've heard closest thing to NY pizza on the West.. I've never had NY pizza so I cant say..

Las Vegas Outlets North or South sometimes offer up to 40% off name brands Michael Kors, Coach, etc etc..

The VIP lounge thing at Aria is particularly easy to do. While we "legally" have access I have never once been asked to show my room key or Mlife card. It's like most things in life if you act like you belong nobody wants to risk insulting you by challenging you. I don't drink (prefer to spend it other ways) so I especially like that Aria keeps the lounge stocked with the Coke cans shaped like bottles. I always go in and grab two.

Okay, now I have to stop at Secret Pizza! I actually tried to find it on my last trip, unaided, but couldn't find it. Now that I looked it up I could go find it... anyway, I've never had New York Pizza, to the best of my knowledge. I've had the Pizza at Sirrico's in NYNY and I assumed that is what New York Pizza is like. Now, I'll have to go have Secret Pizza to compare.

I've assumed it feeds the beer pong tables for which they charge 20 a pitcher. Plus it's only 1 hour and it's surrounded by CET joints where they hope you will remain.

I have been wanting to go to James Turrell's Akhob exhibit... it is in the Louis Vuitton shop in Crystal's.

It is a free exhibit, and from what I've read, totally mind-bending.

Problem is that I can't talk anyone into going with me, and I am not sure if it is really a solo experience.

I went with my husband but definitely would be appropriate for a solo visitor. You'll likely be completely silent during the exhibit anyway.
