    Hi.
I'm looking for any information if there is a store or warehouse in town that sells drinking glasses etc. from casinos that were torn down like the Riviera, Aladdin, etc.
I can't imagine that all unsold items would be thrown away. There must be others like me that are interested in items from the past.

Spinetti's or Gambler's General Store are the first two that come to mind.

I know the Riviera and Sahara both had sales/auctions right after they closed where they sold pretty much anything anyone would offer money for.

Gamblers general store is just a short walk from the Plaza, and I always find something there.

Yes but I wouldn't be surprised if the Gamblers General Store or some other company scooped up the items so they can sell later.

Take a look at the CC+GTCC..(Casino Collectables and Gaming Tokens Club)..Most people post messages on the Chipboard.com and they buy and sell from there or recommend an eBay listing every now and then...The club has a yearly convention in June at the SouthPoint.Everything under the sun casino related is there.

There's always eBay. A quick search for Riviera shows a lot of room number signs, room exit maps, coin buckets etc.

The antique shop just now north of Silver and Gold has quite the collection of items from defunct casinos for sale.

I'm gotten some coffee bugs on Ebay and shopping resale shops like Goodwill. When in LV we go to estate sales and find stuff.

Yep a lot of the Sahara's furniture ended up at a local Budget Warehouse store in Sheffield Lake Ohio. Store closed a year ago. Used to have all kinds of Vegas closeouts. Mostly glassware and soap Bought 4 Sand's coffee mugs , Brand new in boxes still ,for a buck once.

Thx jamesxnj..just what I was looking for to sell the majority of my collection.
Besides the chips/silver strikes I have the usual small freebies, desert inn book pens, stardust pens, matches, napkins, dental kits, buckets. No glassware, craps collectibles though
    I don't think the chipboard.com links? Ahhhh,just found it: http://www.thechipboard.com/

Been to the Gambler's General Store, but have found better luck on Ebay, but that's generally looking for something specific.

No, as long as somebody can make a buck off it somebody would buy it up... so it usually doesn't get thrown away.

But, it can still be hard to find:

    - the names and logos of those old properties are trademarked and its pretty easy to keep a trademark alive, even after the casino is closed and gone. That means that there isn't going to be new stuff made unless somebody licenses the marks from the owner of which if there was going to be enough demand to warrant licensing the trademark holders would likely do it themselves. IE: if SLS owned The Sahara trademarks they could put out some vintage beer mugs in the gift shop with the old name and logo on it, but realistically there wouldn't be enough demand to where the sales could make a blip on the balance sheet so they aren't likely to do it.

    - most casinos stopped using stuff with their name or logo on it a few years ago because people would often just help themselves to it for a free souvenir.

    - time doesn't help in the search: even if somebody bought up a bunch of stuff from one of the closed hotels, as time goes on the stuff gets sold and it goes back to it no longer being made. The Sahara closed 6-7 years ago and The Riviera was 2 years ago - if anything was still being sold in a store after this much time its going to be the stuff that they have leftover after the place is gone for years, so it'd have to either be crap people don't want or something they could get A LOT of.

I was just at a savers thrift store in Minneapolis today and I almost bought 2 highball glasses for the Silver City casino in Vegas, if I remember correctly wasn't that just North of the Riviera on Las Vegas Blvd? Back in the day I used to get $2 in Free Nickles every hour there.

If I had seen those glasses I would have gotten them I'm drinking from my Silver City coffee mug this morning. I think it was between Riviera and Peppermill. It's now a strip mall (called Silver City plaza) anchored by Ross Dress for Less.
