    My Trip Report

Heading to the promised land on Monday. Hubby really wanted to Billy Idol at house of blues so we called grandad in to childmind and built a sneaky break to Vegas.

Usually we do longer trips in July for our anniversary but are changing it up with a lux all inclusive holiday to Dubai this year.

    Previous trip reports (very long)

Flying out using a family member's airline staff standby on Monday to lax at 10:30 am -first gamble is will we get a seat on the plane or have to wait for the 4pm flight. Arrive at 3pm Lax and hopefully catch 17:15 to las Vegas via delta.

Reverse the process on Friday but both lax to London flights are looking really dicey so may have to wait for saturdays flights . Standby flying - cheap but stressful. Approx 24 hours of flying for 90 hours in Vegas

    Accom
Mon night Sams town as prices were still high from March madness weekend.
Tues to Friday - 3 night tower deluxe comp at Luxor with $100 resort credit

Have MyVegas coupons for $75 freeplay each, $75 off $150 at Tender, $50 drinks at Times Square and $25 off 2 entrees at MGM Wolfgang puck.

    Entertainment / gambling.
Only 4 nights and crappy £/$ means that the budget should be tighter. However we've worked some extra shifts and have $1000 each for gambling plus $150 £2 coin money.

Booked and paid for a cabana at the revive pool at MGM for $150 f&b spend on Wednesday and see Billy Idol at house of blues that night. Splashed out on seats rather than general admission because I can't be arsed with standing anymore.

Planning on bingo and vp at sams town then lots of free bet bj and pai gow poker at Luxor.

I'm packed and ready to go even though just travelling with hand baggage this time. J has prepared nothing and is working tonight and Sunday night. I'm meeting him at the airport as he gets off shift. At least he should sleep on the plane [emoji42]

A bunch of us saw Billy Idol a couple of times at House of Blues in Atlantic City. I REALLY hope for your all's sake that Idol doesn't trot out his new stuff like he did for the second concert we say. Rowdy crowd for his known stuff, dead silence for the the new. Probably didn't help that he had to read the lyrics off a prompter and use his hand to keep time

Nice score on the cabana too! Have fun!

I quite like the new stuff - sounds a bit bro-country to me. J is 44 so billy idol is more his generation than mine as I'm 37 and was more into Bros and then later Bon Jovi and The Killers.

The seven year age gap never means much unless it's music or tv when we were growing up.

Redheads go down rather too well (on number 4 or 5 ) which isn't too shabby for 9:30 am. Sleepy time soon - will check back in in LAX

Will be interested to see what this trip does to my fitness stats (I'm a fitbit nerd who runs / body pumps 6 days a week) The drinking and lack of sleep / exercise definitely showed as a spike last July

(Aware that there has been some discussion re live trip reports lately. I post more as a memory box for us to look back on but hope others enjoy too. I know it's picture heavy but it's happy memories for us)

It that a good or bad wow ?

Currently waiting for our flight from lax to las. Flight from London was pretty good - helped by being at the pointy end so was able to wine, dine and recline in style.

Menus and food pics below for anyone interested in what a premium offering on transatlantic is like

Watched La la land. What a load of pretentious twaddle.

That's an "amazing" wow. My BPM is slightly higher than yours at 72. I know of another person who has a resting heart rate of 48, and he goes off cliff climbing and other seriously strenuous stuff at high altitude. So...Wow!

Enjoy Vegas. Win loads and hope to read that you've had a blast this trip.

Finally reached Vegas after a delay out of lax.

Lyft to sams town was $19 inc tip and dead easy to use.

Checked in and was upgraded to a mystic falls view room
Panda Express and bingo are next

No tricks - didn't even realise we had the upgrade until we walked into the room.

Lady opposite us just won $15541 on the coverall as she got it in less than 50 balls.

Best I had was one away from a $750 coverall

Played some 10 play, 10 cent super times pay. Had a couple of nice hits and turned our $150 of £2 coin money into $290
