I don't even work in the casino industry and I could see that by walking in the door the first time.

What are the table minimum's at LD? I haven't been there yet, I'm at least going to check it out, even better if I can gamble a bit.

When we went last month it was $10 for roulette during the day. Very beautiful casino, wouldn't mind staying there actually.

Loss rebates for a $10k bankroll? They'll be overrun unless it only applies to foreign players.

Ike they say it's minimum 10k and I bet it depend on how much player bets per hand etc.... I think regards to MGM it's around $100k before loss rebate comes kicks in so LD has all kinds of clause in it unless you are a seasoned player. But I do like sound of it lol, next trip I am planing to stop over and play there see how it goes.

I think the LD is too small and it will have a hard time attracting the whales. Can't offer all the amenities in that small a foot print.

It will be interesting to see.

I do agree wit you.. first they re off strip and much smaller casino right? Any big whale or Asian player would want best view stirp hotel.... and LD can not offer it.

Last weekend, I was at MGM 2bedroom skylofts!!! They offered me 4 tickets for Bruno mars and 2 tickets for 12 PAC championships tix...Bentley & Cadillac for my family to use over the weekend I think it was best comps I ever received while in Vegas for 3 days, the point I'm trying to make here...I'm a HL baccarat player BUT I don't think I'm any where near $1500 average bet player YET MGM sure made me feel like one. I did play MGM (no more than 2 hrs per day) whole weekend I must say their baccarat room was near empty, less than 10 players for whole weekend!! So whats the main reason they offered all those comps for? Do you think MGM felt threatened by LD? Or since it's quiet at MGM they wanted my play? Or even bit of both? I just feel they really went out of their way to accommodate me and family; I should do TR lol but I do play a lot at local MGM casino tho ; but again, not anywhere near $1500 avg bet

I only have a really rough understanding of the Asian gaming situation and it goes something like this, and it may be out of date, so someone who knows better correct me please:
    • Casinos over there can't directly extend big credit to players, so that gap was filled by the junkets that would charge a relatively large vig
    • The gov't cracked down on the junkets, not sure exactly how
    • At the same time, the gov't put restrictions on how much $ you can move out of the country, so while Vegas can extend big credit, collecting on it is a different story
So I suppose I can see how LD can position itself by offering rebates at a lower level to offset their lack of fancy hotel inventory. But still, $10k sounds like an awfully low level. And how long would $10k last anyway? Maybe that's the point. I still don't see how they'd make much of a dent in MGM's share. But I'm probably missing something.

Chuck, you are right on Asian gaming situation China actually loosened their regulations but still it's not what used to be ; yes I'm Asian not Chinese lol. I been reading a lot about Macau situation. Chinese gov cracking down on how much money you can take out not so much of gambling but rather they do not want US$ going out! So Macau use "chip rolling" system and I believe LD uses it as well to attract big Chinese players; if I'm not mistaking strip casino might be using it.

Yes, I said Asian, but you're correct, I meant specifically Chinese restrictions. It's just capital outflow in general, not specifically gambling. It's something like $50k a year per person max for individual use. Which is why I'm scratching my head a little bit. If you have $50k you want to get out of the country because of yuan devaluation, are you really going use it in Vegas? And spend probably a couple of grand to get there and back?

I don't know either but I'll believe it has to do with a lot of corruption in government officials, money-laundering etc.

I live in Hong Kong. Playing in Vegas is multiple times more enjoyable than in Macau. I'm British and i also play in London. Nothing comes remotely close to the excitement of Vegas. Nothing. A couple of grand to fly to Vegas is short change to those that want to holiday, and actually the cost of flights (to LAX) isn't that different to flying to more local venues over here (Singapore, Philippines, Korea, Macau, Australia - all casino destinations). Definitely don't want to get into a discussion about capital outflow but it's safe to assume that those Chinese citizens that can afford it can easily find US$ to spend in Vegas.

I was in Macau last night and it's pretty busy in the Sands properties. I can't say the same thing however in the high limit areas (paiza). Bear in mind that the minimum Blackjack table bet on the main floor of the casino I was in is US$130 (HK$1000), with a constant card shuffler. I don't think many of the big players really want to be seen in Macau right now playing what is considered high stakes. Bear in mind again that I don't need to show my player card or ID even when cashing in what i consider a lot of money. In London, anything over US$1,200 requires a player card or ID. None of this points to how the LD is looking to take business away from other competition on the strip, but from what I've heard, it serves authentic Chinese cuisine. One thing I've learnt living in HK: the Chinese prefer to eat Chinese food even when overseas. Vegas Chinatown really doesn't cut it in my opinion.

I simply must check out this casino next month in Vegas. It's received good reviews and we are talking about it.

Thanks for your info... regards to your input on casino bj minimum @130 seems high I belong to another Korean gambling website according to them; they mostly visit Macau it reads anywhere $20 no up.. I did hear there are lots of different casino hotels so maybe they were talking about smaller or lesser known ones but man $130 minimum bet damn lol. Anyhow, thanks for you info on Macau..by the way, are the "Lisboa Escorts girls" still hanging around? lol I herd they got cracked down.

Korean gaming site? Wow!! Well, I haven't been to Seoul since they took down Robert De Niro's posters!! $20 is total bollocks. If that is still possible, it's played in the old school small casinos around the old town. It's certainly not in the Cotai based mega resorts. The "fish tank" is still there but whether the security staff allow the sharks to prowl the halls now is another matter, given the arrests made previously. You still see entertainment around the place.

    Still makes Vegas look tame...

Yes, there's few gambling site just like this for Koreans ;obviously it's in Korean - people write about their TR to casino hotel all over. Vegas, Korea and Macau etc... but I didn't realize their minimum were that high! That's crazy at $130. What kind of games do you play? I only play baccarat so it will be heaven for me over there lol

I only really play craps now. Blackjack if I'm losing and on tilt !! When I go to Vegas next month I'll also play UTH as it seems to be an exciting game with a lower house edge than other carnival games if played well.

Blackjack can be found for HK$500 minimum. Carribean Stud I've seen for HK$300 minimum.

Baccarat in Macau? Well...if you went to most places, 80%+ of all table games are dedicated to baccarat! Minimums are HK$1000 (maybe there's a HK$500 lurking around somewhere) but Venetian has a group baccarat pit that has low
Minimums of HK$300 (where a dealer sits in the middle of a large pit and pulls the cards).

I struggle with craps in Macau as they only have 7 tables in the whole of Macau....

Are the crowds there getting better? We popped in there over the holidays and it was almost empty!
