Third party (not associated with a particular casino or brand) hosts

Can someone (preferably someone who has one of these) explain how the relationship works?

If they take you (or send you out on paid airfare) on a junket, is there a "stated" level of play that you need to make for your airfare?

As far as backend comps, would you be eligible if your play met the requirement? Do you have contact with a local casino host.

Not that I should ever need one, or want to use one. I had some friends that visited Lake Tahoe this past weekend and were using a third party host, and I was wondering (didn't have a chance to ask them) if they felt any additional "pressure" to raise their level of play to "make" their airfare. They weren't having a good gambling trip and I feel that they were playing just to "make" their upfront comp.

 

Are you referring to Urcomped.com? From what I understand, it works but in order to get everything comp'd you have to have a substantial amount of play. If you dont meet the certain criteria of play then the resort/casino will bill you at full price. To me, chasing comps not worth it..

OK, now I have another, but associated question, and I guess this is because I live on the West Coast and have hosts at all of the LV casinos that I frequent.

If your third party host now gets credit for all your play, how do you negotiate any backend comps. I've seen a situation where a friend of mine has a third party host, and the local host treats him like "s**t". I am guessing it's because 1) the local host isn't getting any credit for my friend's play, and/or 2)my friend hasn't worked off the upfront comp (i.e. airfare and FP) that was given to him.

Does this seem like a reasonable scenario?

 

@DaiLun I can only speak for my experiences with URComped, they setup the upfront comp and connected me with the host on property that they work with. The backend comps that I received were based on my play, I have had no issue with receiving backend comps for my play.

On the day that I check out, I talk to the host that URComped has connected me with to review my play, then the host applies the backed comps to my account.

I have used several independent hosts that work like URComped.
I get mailers from several different ones all the time.
For you the player,it should be no different than using an in house host.
They comp up front what your past play will allow.At checkout they will check your theo by speaking with national marketing,and take off your bill what they can.
I'm an MLife regular but had to stay at CP a few weeks ago on a business trip.Independent set me up and comped room and food.

 

I have used URcomped to book trips before. I have never heard what you are claiming above from anyone. And it looks like everyone that posted in this thread seemed happy with their service.

Never once, on any of my comped stays booked via URcomped has anyone asked for my credit card in order to bill me. URcomped vets and vouches for the player upfront. In my case i had to send them pictures of my higher level, current, players club cards. Then I had to forward them my email offers from clubs I visit so they can see how others are rating me. Finally I had to have a few of my hosts tell them my ADT, what I play and for how long.

So they know what sort of play they can expect from me. They use that info to "shop" me to other casinos that I want to visit, but I have never played at before. My dining, room, limo or whatever is all upfront comps. Not sure if they share credit for your play or not. It doesn't matter to me.

The hosts I was plugged into DID take care of my back end comps as well. I use URcomped as a foot in the door to some place new. After they get me in, I then receive bounce back offers direct from that casino based on my play. And I'm right as rain.

If you go in and play lower than what they expect from you, backend comps are certainly gone. But everything that was upfront is yours. Not saying if you lie to them, sleep in the free suite, eat the free food and no play them that they COULDNT use your credit card from checkin to stick you with the bill. But claiming you need to play a substantial amount is just wrong.

What you get is based on what they know you historically do. If they know your coin-in or average bet is $10K per day, you'll get a better room and more meal comps. If they know your play is half that, the upfront comp will be reduced as well.

 

Once you book with an independent host,the in house host loses credit for your action.
They should not treat your friend like shit but they are no longer the host that gets credit.

My issue has always been that once you use an independent,they are coded to receive credit and hence commission on all your play for one year.
I will not be staying at Caesars too often and the independent is a friend so I don't really care.
However,there have been instances in the past where I attempted to dump an independent in favor of an in house host 6 months after a stay and it was not allowed.
These guys offer a way in to places where you have no track record so they have some value.
Just be aware that you will have them for a year.
When you are getting good service great.If not,you may be stuck.

 

I meant to add that the one year goes from the most recent time you played in that casino.
So if they make your reservation now and you go back next Feb.they will still be your host even if you were not happy with them.

 

We have been getting calls from an independent who is the president of his own company. He said he is a rep for Venetian Palazzo and they want us back. Of course he must have bought a list from them to try and get some of there old "gold level" or higher players back. Sorry but Sheldon blew that years ago, but it is fun to read the emails and listen to his offers.....................Rick

Yes,several times.
Actually used a few different ones for different cruise lines including NCL,Royal and others.
I stopped using them as I usually go on Celebrity or Royal(same company) now and they have their own casino booking department called the Blue Chip Club .
Usually get a comped Verandah cabin up front and I often pay for an upgrade.

 

URComped arranges fully upfront comped trips if you can prove your play history to their satisfaction.

They also generate "Play to Qualify" offers where you get a substantial discount on the room with the ability to get it all comped back end if you meet play criteria that are also defined in advance. For those offers, as far as I know, for the room itself, you're never on the hook for anything beyond the discounted rate.

Can the 3rd party host look at a cruise line casino play, as well as Las Vegas in order to discount/comp a different cruise line? Reason I'm asking is I just lost a TON of money on Princess over a 10 day cruise last month. We want to try a different cruise line more suited for the kids this year. I'm picking up a free carnival cruise next month from Palazzo but would prefer not to have to play to upgrade to a suite. Can you get these people to help upgrade you on the cruise line? If so I'm definitely calling. Lol

 

lol got that offer the other day. They super changed their criteria. Last time they offered it was princess and for like 25k points you could upgrade to a balcony and 14 days. Now it's a whopping 70k points for that same balconly and 170k for a suite. start at 0 and leave at platinum.

 

Mine starts at balcony but I need a suite with children and it's 150,000 points to upgrade. lol That's not gonna happen. I upgraded to suite on the Princess one which I just recently took the cruise. I was hoping my casino play can upgrade me through 3rd party host. Not sure they have ability but it would be nice! My offer also went down with V/P for the new Carnival cruise promo so I feel ya!
