I plan on taking the monorail this trip because I have never used it before. My plan is to take the deuce from downtown to SLS. Hop on the monorail to the end of the line at MGM. Then turn around and go back to either Ballys or Flamingo stop. Which of these two stops is easiest to get back to the strip?

Bally's, but not sure what you are trying to do here? Is It just to try it?

If you're looking for THE closest stop for strip access, I would say the Linq /Harrah's are the best.
If it is between Flamingo/Bally's it is six of one, half dozen of the other. Both are a hike through the hotel and casino.

I'm sure Flamingo is less of a hike to the Strip than Bally's. With Flamingo it's pretty much a straight shot. With Bally's the station is farther behind the Strip and you have a good walk north, then west via the passage, and then thru the casino and then thru the shops.

I'm still not sure the point. If you want quickest strip access stay on the deuce. And which stop is the shortest will depend on where you want to be on the strip when you get off or maybe it doesn't matter.

I just want to try the monorail, so I thought I would go to the end. I like mid strip, so I thought I would go back to Ballys or Flamingo. I always take the duece, so I just want to take the monorail for something different. I will take the duece back downtown at some point.

Have fun. It's nice and quick but too far back off the strip to be very useful most of the time. Almost/sometimes quicker to just walk.

For a very good overview of the Monorail with some very good {blow on fingernails, wipe on blouse} photos, surf here:

It should be obvious which photos are mine. :)

Harrahs is by far the closest mid-strip location. In fact, I changed my reservations from Flamingo to Harrahs based on walking distance to the monorail stop because I will be eating at MGM on the next trip.

Harrah's/Linq is the easiest center strip stop. Bally's is a longer walk but I thought more easy to access than Flamingo.
