    My Trip Report

Didn't know how else to title this TR.

Went to Tahoe for the weekend. I'm keen to start my 29017 accumulation of promotional chips.

Rented a Hyundai Sonata Hybrid for the drive up.

Made it in 6.5 hours hours via US 50 including a stop at the restaurant to pick up XLB for my host (it really paid off this time, as you will see), and a stop at my ex-wife's to drop off my son and stuff that I'm getting rid of.

Gave the three orders of Xiao Long Bao (18 dumplings) to my host and she mentioned that she had Chinese new Year stuff that she had set aside for me.

Xiao Long Bao Are Chinese Soup Dumplings that originated in Shanghai, where my Tahoe host if from. If I can, I always make it a point to stop in Sacramento and brings some to her.

    Year of the Rooster statuette

I now have a statue that goes with last CNY. I guess I'll need to stay at least diamond for 10 more years to complete the set . . .

A quick summary, in the 2 hours I played I was down as much as $1200, but I was able to claw my way back to even, but I picked a "bad" machine for my last 200TC. Moved over to Sky Riders (redhead) and made back a hundred. No hand pays, but I wan't as diligent in taking pictures of midrange ($500 but less than $1000) hits.

So, I made my 1000TC day, and it only cost me $300 ($100 if you count the $200 in promo chips hat I'm accumulating)

    Time to hit the sack.

Woke up at 4:45AM (old man time) Gonna head up to Reno and put in a little play there, and collect more promo chips.

Great start DaiLun! I love the CNY special items, especially that custom $2 bill. Is that actually real money? I'd love some of those. The special chips look really cool too.

I've never given a host a gift as I view my play and loyalty as sufficient but I am a massive fan of my Wynncore host so I will give him a gift in April. Unfortunately I don't know much about his interests or what he likes so I'll probably give him a Visa gift card.

    Keep the report coming!

My luck I'd be trying to feed that $2 bill into a slot or bet it on black to try and win back my bankroll before the end of my trip. Lol Good luck DaiLun!

Half of Day 2 - I'm up, and have my 1000TC day. I might be done for the trip.

Went to Reno and put in 550TC (plus QFR for other people) Down $300 after being up $500, but as they say "It takes money to make money."

Dropped $400 by being "stubborn" playing $8.80 a pull on an FOB machine. Sat down at Wonder 4 Tower when my friends just happened to wander by. I'm having lunch and dinner with them.

We went upstairs to the buffet and had a leisurely hour and a half lunch.

Was supposed to go take a nap, but decided to go downstairs to try to finish off my 1000TC day. Sat down at a Buffalo Gold machine. After putting in about $200, I got the bonus, and 5 gold coins on a retrigger.

    buffalogold_1152.jpg

The final bonus total was $1152, just short of a handpay. Brought me back to down $200.

The ticket was too big to be cased out at the TITO machine, so I took it over to the cashier. Of course, the cashier booth is across from the High Limit slot area. I ventured over to the favorite machine ($5 Triple Double Strike) of the friend I ate lunch with.

Decided that I would "only" put in $200. It didn't take that much. At the end of the first $100, I hit

    tripledoublestrike_600.jpg

Hit another $240 and a couple of little ones. Cashed out for $900.

I now have 1000TC for today (between Reno and Tahoe). I am also now up about $500 for the trip. So, effectively, I'm "done". Now it's time for a nap. When I wake up, I will walk over to Hard Rock Tahoe, where I have $75 in free play.

My Harrahs SoCal trip next week is now paid for . . . .

    Saturday afternoon:

Went over to HRH Tahoe and played my $75 FP, was up about $200 but wasn't ready to quit and put it all back in (and more).

One the way out, I was down about $150 and put $300 in to chase the $300 jackpot on Wonder 4 jackpot. No pictures (they don't allow photography at HRH anyway) Anyway, cashed out for $450 after I hit it.

I think I lost $100 at HR Tahoe. No matter, time to go back to the room and "settle". Gonna try to take an unaided nap before crab feed tonight.

Still, put in a good amount of play, earning points and had 5,000 added as part of the ongoing basketball promotion. Points are accrued at $1 per point.

I tried taking a nap, I also tried watching La La Land, wasn't successful at either, so I went downstairs and tried to "slow play". Wasn't successful at that, but I limited the losses. I'm still up about $200 for the trip.

The crab feed was excellent. I satisfied my Dungeness Crab "jones" for the year. I went back for three servings, and still had room for dessert.

OK, stick a fork in me, I'm done. In my room, gonna go to sleep early, since the time change takes effect tonight (tomorrow morning).

I've had enough play, time to get ready for next week at Harrahs SoCal

I have a $2 bill in my wallet ever since May. A degenerate wanted two singles for it at a casino. I didn't have two singles at that moment, but I still wanted the bill, so I gave her a ~$2.40 slot ticket. The next week, hit Aces with a kicker for $500. Two nickel royals and two more $200 quad wins since. That bill isn't being spent anytime soon...

I like the looks of his better though!

    Nice run DaiLun!

Here's a picture of last year's Monkey and this year's Rooster

    monkey_rooster.jpg

Trip summary, including the $420 in promo chips, I was up about $800. A little seed money for Harrahs SoCal next week. Still up for the year . . . . I'm not looking over my shoulder, but know it can't last. Just hoping that I can hold out until April in Las Vegas . . .

I would love to collect these. Are they only available in Harrah's Reno?

I get mine at Harrahs Lake Tahoe. I think that they also give them out in Reno.
