Sorry for this disgusting topic, however I figure others might deal with the same issue.

The thing is that I always seam to get bad stomach when in Vegas. I always thought that the reason was due to large consumption of alcohol and junk food. However I might have other posible reasons in mind:

    1) Alcohol and junkfood
    2) Handling money and casinochips containing lots of jerms
    3) Water jerms fx. in icecubes
    4) Combo of the above

What do you think? And any adwise on how to avoid stomach issues while in Vegas is welcome

I find that I have an exponential increase in bowel activity wherever I travel, not just Vegas. I think it comes from eating out every meal and drinking a lot more. I've learned to appreciate it and take it for what it is [emoji90], you could try this link http://americangut.org/ and see what's going on before and after a vegas trip.

People recommend Pedialyte to help with hydration. And, I've always found Pepto Bismol to work best for stomach upset!

I think the combination of traveling, the new bacteria in a different location, the highly caloric rich meals, and the alcohol plays a huge roll in it. I always pack the chewable Alka Seltzer, Immodium gel tabs, and medicine to help me sleep. Take both of those at the first stomach gurgle and it seems to really help. Better than spending valuable Vegas time in the bathroom or bed! Lol

Immodium and Pepto. Airliners are the killer for me. Some D always finds the need to sneeze or cough right on me.

Also, I now need to just slow down the first day and ease into it. Too much, too fast, too soon.

I've found that water fr different areas affects me...so I only drink bottled products and any mixed drinks with no ice.

I LOVE the chewable Alka Seltzer- delicious, but does not seem to work at all! I'll hafta try the gel tabs you mention. Pepto seems to work best, but not very tasty. Smooth Tums are another option that doesn't taste too bad.

For me I think it's the food. I almost never eat out at home. I always pack Zantac and Lactaid pills and double up on my probiotics. And I'm not adverse to Maximum Strength Maalox, either.

Do you get drunk in the morning and eat out every meal at home?

most people do not do this but many do it on vacation in vegas. Thats the issue.

Overeating and drinking are a recipe for a bad stomach. That's why I'd never get on the High Roller!

I've got an iron immune system but Vegas will wear it down from time to time. I don't necessarily have stomach issues but I'll sometimes catch a cold or have cold symptoms for a couple days upon return.

    Sleep deprivation
    Way too much booze
Eating things I normally don't eat
Casino chip handling (despite fanatical hand washing)

Another factor is a lot of international visitors bringing germs from wherever they're from.

Dirty chips and money are small potatoes. You handle filth at home all day long, too.

I'm pretty sure it has more to do with drastic lifestyle changes for the trip.

Depends on how different your lifestyle at home and at Vegas. Your body may not be able to handle the change, whether its eating greasier foods, consuming more alcohol, eating at different times, etc.

I always have a few bottles of Gatorade in my room and after a hard night of drinking which is norm in Vegas I drink a few glasses before my few hours of sleep I have never had a stomach issue

That's a great idea. If taking shots, I always take a few sips of water after. Helps a lot.

    How odd.
There were a few times I've gone to Vegas, I've gotten sick. The thing is, I seem to consume more alcohol - but don't get drunk. At home, I'd never sip a cocktail before six...but in Vegas, it's not uncommon for me. We eat heavier in Vegas than we do at home. We eat pretty light, during the week at home, and maybe eat out - honestly - maybe one weekend per month! But in Vegas, it's daily. The last time we went, I started mixing a bottle of water with every x-number of cocktails. I didn't get sick. Also, we decided to just eat when we were hungry rather than 'let's try this or let's try that'. Was that the fix? I dunno, but if it worked once, I'm sticking with it.

I find that Tap Beer can cause a sour stomach. If they don't clean the pipes regularly it can cause trouble. The ones where the barrel are right under the bar aren't so bad, but the ones where the tubes are longer can be killers. I usually stick to bottled beer when traveling.
