Is it just me, or is mLife gift cards administratively "effed up"?

    Administrators, move as necessary.

So, after my debacle at Emeril's where I found out when I was paying the bill that they don't take mLife gift cards, I sent an email to mLife asking if they had a list of restaurants that do (or more importantly) DO NOT take mLife gift cards.

Here is the response that I received:

    "Good afternoon,

I apologize for the inconvenience you experienced at Emeril’s as well as that we do not have a list of the venues that accept gift cards as a valid form of payment. You may want to try contacting the restaurant directly or try the resorts concierge service. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask us."

To their credit, CET has exactly what restaurants take RCs and the ratio (1:1, 2:1, etc) that they take them at.

Am I just being a "cranky old man"? I have $700 of these things and it looks like I'll have to call each prospective restaurant to find out in advance how I can pay.

And then, to add to it. I have a myVegas reward and have been given a room with one bed. Preferably, I need two even though my BFF has a room downtown.

So, once again, I turn to mLife. the answer:

    "Good afternoon,

Thank you for contacting M life Member Services. I do see that your reservation ####### was created via MyVegas. The room type that you purchased is the room type that you will receive from the MyVegas reward. To change that, you would need to purchase the queen room reward. You may always try contacting MyVegas 855-881-6074 to see if anything can be done. If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask us."

So I checked again and myVegas doesn't have any room "class" or type rewards. Oh well, when I took a reward room at Bellagio I got two beds at the front desk. Maybe that'll work at Aria.

I took your reservation number out of the quoted text. Not sure where else this would fit. Not really comps. Maybe Strip Hotels, but not exactly.

And, no, you're not a cranky old man. That doesn't seem like very good customer service to me either. Maybe I've finally hit "cranky old lady" stage of life. ;)

could you not charge back to room and then use paying bill at end?

Wasn't staying at an mLife casino. It was the last meal of the trip and since I was "up" for this trip I wanted to "treat myself".

Good customer service would have been that 'we don't have that information on hand, but allow me to find out what venues take the gift cards. How would you like me to contact you with the information? I can call you personally or e-mail you'. THAT would have been good customer service.

Agreed - does not make sense that they would not have this information
