A long, 430 mile drive today. Mostly 70 mph with a few slow downs (towns, road work). Driving a Honda Odyssey (oler, so no 'cylinder deactivation') I got well over 30 mph (US gallons; Imperial is even more).

Helped to know the 'back roads' in Vegas. Got off US 95, onto Twain, under I15, and Frank Sinatra to the back of Exc. Mobile check in worked well; parking is a zoo besides expensive.

Now off to find some dinner and gamble some.

Our "run of the house" room is a Resort Tower, 28th floor room facing "in" (south). Pic attached.

Enjoying your trip and photos, waiting for that royal photo! I do have a sort of request. Keep your eyes open when walking by VP machines area in casinos and see if you locate Ultimate X Spin machines. I read that new game that sounds great fun might already be in some casinos. Good luck!

A nice, sunny morning (pic below). Ended up at Buca Di Deppo for dinner. On the rotunda in Exc. Italian 'family style' dining .... bring your appetite! Having been before, we sat in the bar area where it's the same menu but the drinks are "all day happy hour".

As well, if you go to their website (via the Excalibur site), you can grab a $10 off coupon (when you spend at least $30 on food). We had Caesar salad for 2 (didn't finish) and Chicken Canneloni (did finish, actually quite good). Food, plus 4 glasses of wine, less the discount was around $50 total.

Ended up at the bar near the Resort Tower elevators. SO was in the positive for quite awhile, lost her Jackson eventually. I broke the machine ... wouldn't cash out, so took two techs to fix (while the bartender kept supplying me rum/cokes wiile waiting; a 'win' in my books). Eventually lost mine, too.

We were playing 6/5 BP - lousy paytable, but I kept track of Full Houses as that's all you lose on. We each had one in about 200 hands, so really not a big deal. We pretty much were looking for 4OAK/better then would cash out.

Also played some penny slots with no success.

I don't have to drive today! But for LAS to pick up our daughter and friends. Will walk a lot of the Strip before Jay Leno at 10 pm. I'll try to take more pics.

Mobile check in - I forgot to mention that this worked quite well. I assume it's fairly new. I filled out the info 24 hours in advance. They emailed me when the keys were ready, so I just went to the Mobile counter (didn't have to stand in the ling, check in line). They added 'parking' to my account, gave me my keys and away I went. Worked quite well.

As daughter's plane is delayed by 6 hours, decided to walk from Exc to Venetian and back (on different sides of Strip). Fitbit says 14k steps/about 7 miles. Donated to a few properties along the way. Beautiful day, sunny and 70F. No wind.

Was pleasantly surprised to find full pay machines just inside the door at Cromwell. 9/6 Jacks and 8/5 BP. Didn't win anything, but nice to get 45 coins for a FH.

    Pics to come.

We used three x MyVegas rewards. Exc breakfast buffet was fine .. I wouldn't pay $18.99 for it (or most breakfasts). Eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, etc was quite fine.

NFI 'bogo' was indeed a $35 voucher. Used it during Happy Hour. Beers were $5, we had fish/chips and a turkey panini. Paid about $20 beyond the voucher.

We were able to use the $25 Free Play, in spite of a low level MLife room offer (we paid $19/$50+ for the two rooms). Managed to turn the $25 into $35 so a win all the way around.

That just got on videopoker.com. Will probably take a few more months before it hits a casino. Also on some of the games, the multipliers got reduced as well. No beuno. Better to play standard ten play usually.

Enjoying the photos. I see the Conservatory is celebrating the new year of the rooster. It must be nice to be able to play 9/6 JB in the middle of the Strip these days :headbang:.

Tringlomane. Ultimate X is addictive big way! A new game appears sometimes in a casino or two and then if popular, it propagates to other casinos. I thought maybe a place here and there in the suburbs might already have it. Too bad if as you say the multipliers got reduced in Ultimate X Spin :grrr:. I will still play it. My all-gambling-life-record-hit was 20 K for a dealt royal at Spin Deluxe at Bellagio, un premio muy bueno, and that was on 9/5 JB. Not the best pay table I could find in Sin City at the time, but can't complain. It came within the first five deals of the session. I will play Ultimate X Spin the first time I see it, but not for long if the pay table is horrid and the machine is not in an exuberantly generous mood.

It seems you find it easier to hit in golf a hole in one, than in VP hit a dealt royal on the first bet. Good luck.
