hey everyone! i started this thread because I love to hear gambling stories. Of course ill give you one of mine.

I went to vegas with a bunch of people on my birthday. Anyways its about 6 am on our first night in vegas, everyone has already went back to there room expect for me and my buddy A. I had 200 dollars in my wallet left for the current night I would be willing to use. As usual we were drinking pretty heavily wandering back to our hotel room at the Monte Carlo. So we see the high limit room and both decide lets give a shot. So we sit down at Baccarat. I buy in with 200 and my buddy buys in with 50. So I go 200 on player and my buddy with 50. BAM player wins.

The waitress comes by and says would you like drinks? we order some vodka shots. I tell the dealer we are going to wait for the drinks. a couple minutes pass our drinks arrive since we are in high limit. So i put my 400 dollars into player, and my buddy slides his 100 onto player. we clink our shots together and the dealer begins to deal. BAM player win. So being a drunk idiot I tell my buddy loudly "Aight Bud lets make it ride....or die!" I slide my 800 onto player and my buddy A takes his money off and says its to stressful and hes.out.

I tell the dealer to deal em. Now i was pretty drunk and I got dealt an Ace and facecard for a solid 1. I was pissed. The Banker had to draw to 3 and ended at zero and bam player wins. 1600 dollars. and then the best part....I stopped and went to bed haha

First time I took my brother-in-law gambling at the local casino we played craps for $100 buy-in each. Had a great run and cashed out around $500 each. On the way to the cage, he sees the roulette wheel and throws the entirety of his lifetime gambling winnings on black. Black hits, $1,000, cashes out and leaves.

I am lacking in exciting table games :poker: experiences, but my best gambling story is from a few years ago when my minions kept asking about scratch-off lotto tickets whenever we'd be at the cashier at the local gas station.

They have an uncle who's gone broke twice from playing those things so I figured I'd teach the kids a lesson on how fast your money can disappear.

I surveyed the choices of one-dollar, two-dollar, and three-dollar scratch-offs, but decided to go with something more pricey to show the kids how fast money can disappear.
I purchased a $5 ticket and we took it over to a table by the snack bar.

Before the big reveal I flipped the ticket over and read the odds of winning. I told the kids that we were most likely holding onto a losing piece of stock paper right now.

I pulled out a quarter and scratched off the "YOUR NUMBERS" part at the top, revealing the four or five numbers we'd be looking for down below!
"Hey Dad," Minion #1 chimed in. "Number 13 is there. Your lucky number! We're gonna win for sure!"
"Don't count on it, kiddo," I remember replying.

The minions all huddled in to watch me scratch off the first of the four lines. No matching numbers.
The second line was revealed to have no matches either.
After the third line came up empty I was pleased to see the gravity of the situation beginning to sink in with the minions.
So scratching the last line was just a formality to end this lesson and get on the road.
Minion #1 and #2 had already lost interest and were looking away. I scratched the last line and Minion #3 saw it and shrieked, "Number 13! $500!" :woohoo:
The kids were jumping up and down. Best time they ever had at Cenex by a long shot!

We had to go to a large grocery retailer to cash it in as the gas station didn't have enough cash on hand to cash it.

My lesson didn't quite have the impact I was predicting.
So I guess the lesson turned into take the money and run...:biker:

My best story is too long to recount in this thread. But I'm pretty sure you can click on my trip reports and still find it. Its from my December 2015 Tunica trip report when I won $75,000 in a blackjack tournament thanks to some miraculous hands

I've won and lost more in a session, lots more, but a recent experience was lots of fun so I'll tell it.

I bought in at Golden Gate for $300 at Free Bet. There were four of us at the table and we struggled for a long while. I was just about felted, as was everyone else, when we decided to quit. They had already gotten up and were talking to each other in the aisle but I still had $10 worth of silver left from my blackjacks I had gotten during the session. So I shoved it out there. I went all in! lol. I won. Then I let it ride and got two free bets out of it. Won all of them. Then I did it again and got two more free bets that I won. I forget the exact sequence of events, but I turned that $10 in silver into $240 in maybe five hands. I lost one $10 bet and asked the dealer, "I should quit, shouldn't I?" She laughed and nodded. So I did. My buds turned around to see her coloring me up and said, "What the hell just happened here?!!" lol. That was the best $60 losing session I ever had!

We go to Vegas for 3 nights.
Day 1 buy in Craps, played only a few minutes, cashed out with what little I had left.
Day 2 buy in Craps , played another few minutes only. Cashed out with a few bucks and once again left with my tail between my legs.
Day 3 (last night), played another few minute but instead of cashing out and leaving I placed what little money I had on the table figuring it was easier to leave the table empty handed.
This last time with the dice resulted in a 4 number fire bet, a few hardways and numerous points hit.
Not only did I win back all the money but actually came out way ahead from that last session.

I'm not as big a player as most here but on my first Vegas trip at age 22 (with almost no gambling budget), my friends and I flew Allegiant and stopped by Golden Gate to get our $50 matchplays. We all wanted to win something so we decided to spread them out over the board. One of us red, one of us bet odd, one of us bet high. Just one needs to hit to break even and only like 8 spots aren't covered. Ball spins, we're scared because it's the biggest risk any of us had ever taken at a table, and then the ball drops...RED 19. We all win! We're jumping up and down and then notice the guy next to us at the table just hit it bigger on that spot, with his biggest pile of single chips on that number. Won at least $350 and he seemed like he didn't care. haha

My more recent dumb win was at Bellagio with my buddy. On the way out the door to our room at Mirage I decide to grab a drink at the bar and drop a few $5 bets on VBJ. Just a little time killer while I wet my whistle. I accidentally hit max bet and there is almost no limit on those damn things haha My full $90 gets sucked in. Ah, shoot. I'm dealt two aces against the dealer 6. Well crap, I've got to split that. Plop more money into the machine. I draw a 13 and 15. Dammit, what a dumb idea. Dealer has 11 to start, draws another 5, draws a Queen. Woooooo!

It's the accidental wins that are best. Like the time my buddy misunderstood the betting requirements at a European table and thought his chips were $1 not $5 and hit a single number.

I'm sure we all got some great stories. This is my first of many...

This was a few months ago. My local Indian casino sends me a monthly mailer with a freeplay offer, comp rooms, and dining credit. They also have a great comp system like expresscomps but you actually earn them at a reasonable pace so I never have to worry about meals. Knowing they have great fried chicken on the buffet, I headed the hour trip on a weekday off work with the plan to grab lunch and play my $75 freeplay.

My machine of choice at this place is a 5-credit $1 Bally cash wheel/Monte carlo slot. The one where if you line up the 2 spin icons and then a third "Wheel Spin" or "Wheel Double Pay" or "2x Spin" or "3x spin". This machine has been nice to me so I use my freeplay on it.

$75 freeplay, nothing. Drats! Off to lunch.

Had lunch and then went against my plan pulled out my wallet and stuck a $100 back in the Cash Wheel (imagine that).

    First spin, hit 7 -- 7 -- Double which pays $200. Sch-weeeet!

I keep playing for a little bit, hit some little teaser pays, etc...credits stick around $250-300. I'm tiring out and I notice an elderly woman standing behind me and watching me. I absolutely *HATE* this so I cash out and leave. She says "Oh was I bothering you?" and I shrug and say No I was done anyway.

On my way out, seething from this woman watching me (lol, I don't know why)...I get an inkling to hit the High limit room before heading home. Now this Indian Casino considers HL anything $1 slot or above so it's not Vegas-style High limit but still has some interesting machines.

I put a $200 tito in an IGT"I love triple diamonds" machine. It's a 20-line :)eek::eek::eek:) $1 per line machine. I just say why not and play it. 4 spins nothing....I get to saying Ok time to cash out, but then theres that voice in your brain...

    One.....more.....time....

Now normally It is very hard to control and conquer that voice.

    One....more....SPINNNNN

Cash out, or spin. Decisions, decisions.

    "MAX BET"

    Double bar---Triple Diamond---Double Heart
    Double bar---Double bar---Triple heart
    7 --- Triple Diamond --- Triple Diamond

Total handpay paid $1,240.00 (the big 7-triple-triple paid $900)

The machine goes WIZZ and plays that delightful handpay music. 20 minutes later, cash in hand, after ONE spin on the sole $100 machine(nothing)...I head into my car with profits and enjoy the hour drive home. :p:p

In my long craps career I've had 2 good runs as a shooter where I got tipped by another player. First was at the Stardust years ago. It was a $2 table. I don't remember how much I won but when I was done a guy on the other end sent a black chip my way. Back then my whole gambling budget for a trip was about $300. Wild. Last year at the Orleans I had a nice run as shooter. Another player walked over and handed me 3 blacks. My girlfriend couldn't believe a player would tip another player.

I've seen a die bounce off the table and down a woman's blouse (more than once) and in people's drinks (several times). A few weeks ago a guy at the other end of the table was having a nice roll. Hit some numbers and 2 points. All of a sudden, with the 2 dice on the felt in front of him, there was a delay. The dealers and boxman were talking to him and I noticed a THIRD die in the guys hand. Apparently he told them he pulled it out of his pocket as a "joke". Very weird. The game was delayed about 10 minutes while the security tapes were reviewed upstairs. He was told he was done shooting. He acted all pissed off and left but not sure what he expected. I don't know if he was trying to cheat or not and apparently the tapes didn't confirm anything.

I enjoy threads like these, it's really fun to read about other member's gambling exploits. Thanks OP, for starting the thread. I hope it flourishes for a long time!

Many times it's the surprising wins, no matter what amount, that sticks in our memories and make us smile as we think back on our gambling experiences. I'd like to share one of them:

My trip was about to end. It was 5:30 am and the bus for our gambling junket was soon to arrive to take us back to the airport. I stayed up all night playing craps and with a few more minutes left before boarding the bus, I put a hundy into a slot machine. Thinking it was a dollar slot I played one credit at a time with no luck whasoever. Not even a small win. The credits dwindled down to 2 credits and I decided to just play it out to zero. Next spin the machine did some clanging of the bells and whistles and whaddya know, I won 80 credits.

Yay, I thought to myself, I won 80% of my stake back. But then my dreary eyes looked and realized I was playing a 5 dollar machine. 80 times 5.....:woot: 400 moolahs! And it was time to board the bus.

Not a very big win but everytime I think about that win it makes me smile.

Last May I was in Vegas staying at MGM and had lost my whole bankroll by the night of my last full day in Vegas. I decided to go get $500 from the ATM :nono: to play a little more before hitting the sack. Went to The Walking Dead slots and played max bet and in about 2 hours time I had a $1500 line hit, an $1100 bonus and then I hit the $11,000 grand jackpot. It was amazing and such a turn of events, not to mention it gave me some money to play much larger bets than normal the next morning before heading to the airport which was awesome.

    Here's a weird one -
It might have been my second trip to Vegas,
My gambling buddy + I started playing a table game.
I was NOT a gambler ( my buddy was )
We started talking w/ the dealer.....after some time -
The dealer said , "I'll help you guys win."
I had no idea what the dealer could do for us ?"
    I soon lost my stake.
The dealer said to me "Stay in, I'll help ya."
    I said, "No thanks."
My buddy stayed in - I was getting drunk + not paying any attention.
I wish I had - but there was a hot chick in short shorts leaning over the
rail at the crap table next to us.
    I was busy !
After a while my buddy says "thanks" to the dealer -
"Where should I meet you ?"
Dealer says "Caesar's pit in an hour."
I asked my buddy "What the hell is going on ?"
He said "I'm cutting in this dealer - on my winnings."
    WTF ?
We went to Caesars and my buddy handed him some cash.
    *
    To this day -
I still don't know what happened while I was watching the hot chick near by.
    *
    Weird, huh ?

A group of us were at a crap table when a die went off the table. Everyone looked for a long time, never found it.
Later in the evening, long after we had left that casino, one of the guys found it in his shirt pocket. We got a good laugh out of that.

Last summer we arrived at Palms around 1PM and hit the ground running. Sitting at a bank of VP machines and our waitress remembers us from previous trips, she proceeds to bring us shots of Fireball with a beer chaser. Sometime around midnight we do the wall crawl back to the room and engage in some adult activities, during the drunken activities my GF is kinda flung off the bed landing on her back.

Next morning she can't stand up or walk. I feed her full of ibuprofen, get her moving a bit and she want's to go to GC to buy some Ben Gay. It took forever to get there and she had to rest some, then we had to cross the casino. Half way across she needed to rest again and sat down at a quick hits. (A little about me here, I hate slots and never ever play them) I sit down beside her and try to put a $20 in, machine won't take it so I hit the call attendant button.

Slot attendant shows up and finds a dollar jammed up inside, she try's to give it to me but I tell her it isn't mine. She whispers to me it is because she doesn't want to do the paper work over an abandond dollar. I pocket it and insert my $20.

I hit max bet and all of a sudden the machine is freaking out, I begin to apologize for breaking it when they both tell me I hit an $1199 progressive. Um yea I cashed that out right away.

Fast forward a few hours. My GF is feeling better and we are back at palms drinking heavily. Back on the same bank of VP that started this all off. We are playing 5 play STP waiting to get a seat at the bar.

For some reason I was only playing dimes and doing pretty well when I get a 10X multiplier. I deal and am dealt J and K of spades and 3 aces. For some drunken stupid reason I held the J and K and hit deal.

WTF?!? I took a long time to stare at what had happened. I ended up with my first ever royal and 2 4OAK. Hand Pay Baby!

I did well the rest of the week too. so good I managed to come home with double my bankroll even after excessive spending at the pool etc.

The funniest thing was after about a week back at home. Our GC mailers arrive and my GF who lost her shirt there on the quick hits got a 3 day comp with a little free play. My mailer looked different than hers, fancier I guess. It was for 7 nights $200 FP and $200 resort credit.

WTF indeed. An offer like that for a guy who did a one spin hit and run for $1199 :kill::kill::kill:

FWIW I've actually used the offer for this coming Nascar weekend. Saves us around $700 in rooms alone.

I just wonder how they expect me to live up to my traditional level of play.:kill:

I've got a few but I'll share the most recent wild run.

Last MM I was at Rio with my buddies. They were staying there and the book area wasn't as crowded as Strip joints so I headed over and joined them. After the games were over we went to play craps but Rio stupidly only had two tables open and they were jammed.

So for the second time in my life I sat down to play baccarat. It was a $10 minimum no commission table. I bought in for $500 and my friend the same. He went busto quickly but I kept running it up.

As Alan's dad says in The Hangover - you never walk away from a heater. So there I sat for ten hours. We had a fun table. The dealers were great and the other players too. My group went to dinner without me. Went out to the bars without me. Went to the strip club without me. They came back after all this and I was still there.

I turned that $500 into $9000 profit. I had it up to $11,000 and lost two in a row and decided to cash out.

I went from playing $25-50 per hand to $500-1000 per hand. It earned me Diamond for that one session and I headed back to Palazzo with a wad of hundreds in my pocket.

My story was one of the first times I went to Las Vegas. I was going for a bachelor party and this was a year or so after "The Hangover" came out so I had a lot of expectations for the trip.

Unfortunatly it wasn't as expected. I remember sitting with my friends at the airport and thinking wow we just got our asses handed to us. At the casinos, there was nothing exciting to note. Couldn't win anything. As for the exciting expectations of the bachelor party, the only nudity I saw was the homeless guy on the street with a well placed hole in his pants.

Anyway so I am at the airport down $1700. I budgeted $1000 for the weekend. Feeling a bit depressed (probably from all the alcohol we drank and the whooping I took at the casinos) I took out $100 from the ATM to pass the time. After a couple of spins on a $1 machine (I think it was a WOF machine), I hit 7-7-7 for a pay out of $900.

It put me within budget and at the time was one of my biggest slot wins. Since then, I never pass an opportunity to play airport slots.

They are even a Las Vegas opening tradition. When I land, I put $40 through a machine and see what happens.

A couple of years ago I was on a roadtrip in the southwest with a couple of guys. The roadtrip included Vegas (of course) and it was their first time. Never ever played slots. One guy asked me to show him how to play slots (very difficult!).

So after the buffet visit at the Orleans I looked for a WoF machine to show him (them) a Jackpot machine and the wheel spin feature.

I could not find a 25c machine so I put 10$ in a 1$ machine, which I would normally never play (I am cheap lowrolling). 2$ a spin, 4 spins nothing, 5th spin: Wheel of fortune. Wheel stops at 200.

Cashed out the 200$ immediately. The looks of the guys were payless. "You see, this is how to play the slots" I said smiling.
