Slots Slot Tournaments

Furst of all I have only played slot machines a couple of times in past trips to vegas.

1. How often and which casino's in Vegas have them?

2. Do casino's have them scheduled every week or are they just randomly scheduled?

3. What are the basic rules and fees for the tournament?

Looking for something for my wife to enjoy while I'm at a monster jam with the kids, she really like slots.

 

Different casinos have different styles. Generally there are "events" which are often multi-round over 1-3 days and involve more significant cash prize pools of anywhere from 10k to 250k (or more). These are generally invite only or have significant buyins (for example, at V/P the 25k tournaments which run 2-3 times a month are invite only or $100 buy in, the 50k or 100k tournaments are invite only).

Many casinos also have daily tournaments with smaller prize pools. You can normally enter if you earn a minimal number of points that day (Harrahs for example is 10 points in slot play to enter 1 time), V/P if theirs is still going on gives you one entry for each 750 points you earn (up to 4 a day).

Like your wife, my wife loves the tournaments. We normally ensure she can play at at least one at V/P during any stay, and will sometimes hit up some TR properties for the dailies.

Basic rules are almost always the same, you get unlimited spins within the time limit, highest score(s) win. Some tournaments (like the multi-round) will combine scores for a net total, with the dailies each score is a separate entry.

 

If you're old enough, you can play senior slot tournaments at the off-strip casinos. Usually age 50+, first entry free with additional entries available by earning points. Tournaments run weekly at (?) Stations, South Point, Tuscany, Silver Sevens, Rampart, and probably others. Other casinos offer drawings, point multipliers, and/or dining discounts on their senior days.

We have walked through the casinos and stopped and watched a few slot tournaments.
The people really don't look like they are having fun.
You are basically just slapping the button not even watching or caring what appears.
Have you actually seen one? The reason for asking is my wife is a HUGE slot fan and she won't even bother joining one even though we get free offers to play.

 

They're not necessarily having fun, but it's not a painful experience either. Tournament sessions are typically only 5 minutes or less. Tournaments can be a valuable slot club benefit.
