2/25-3/1 Gold Coast, Cosmo, touch of NYNY - Low rollin, but, Money Me!

Well here it is, I’m counting down the hours and not the days until my semi-annual Vegas low roller smash-n-grab. I rarely seem to go more than twice a year, and not for more than a few days. Someday that will change.

Doing the first night at the Gold Coast, probably playing in the “hippie pit” for a bit, then I’m moving to Cosmo for 2 nights. I got the black Friday b1g1 sale from them so I’m only paying for 1 night. This trip should push me into Sterling status, so that is pretty exciting for me and planning future visits. My flight leaves around midnight on the final day, and it's usually delayed, so I picked up a MyVegas 1 night for NYNY. I think I smelled pretty ripe on my last trip home, having spent the final hours in Harrahs Piano Bar drinking free gin and tonics, so gonna class it up a bit this time and spruce up before I fly! I also scored the magical 4th reward, so I’ll be at Nine Fine Irishmen for my free going home dinner, negating the extort fee I’ll have to pay on my “free” room.


This time I’m meeting up with my brother from Dallas, who likes blackjack and pai gow poker, not so much slots, but I’m sure one good win might cure him of that! Our goals are dinner at Tender (MyVegas coupon) and to play the new Monty Python slot. Has anyone seen it in Vegas? I haven’t been in any casino in 2017 so I’m not sure how prevalent it is. I’m also hoping to still find the Twilight Zone slot but those seem to be on their way out


Brother is not much of a drinker, a beer here and there. It’s rumored that he likes whiskey, so perhaps we’ll put that to the test. I don’t like beer much but I am that idiot that loves the $18 cocktails, so I have a little hit list of drinks I want to try. I plan on trying the Mighty Aphrodite, Jan Collins, and Imperial Court at Bond, the Golden Leaf at Mandarin Bar, the cherry bomb manhattan at Scarpetta, the beer-ish black and black at 9Fine, and whatever strikes my fancy at Squeeze. Not necessarily in that order, and not all in the same day.


I was going to try and do the Quest but I’m not sure it makes sense with my low level of play at CET. I might allot $125 for max bet Game of Thrones and see what happens – I love that game and it's going to get my money sooner or later anyway. If I can keep parlaying the wins maybe I’ll do the Quest. I think I only had around 500 credits with CET last year. The most I could get is Platinum, and the benefits don’t appeal to me all that much, so I may just play where I am staying, plus Aria, maybe TI for pai gow, and maybe also Wynn. I wanna see if I can find a kitschy sweatshirt at Flamingo, and they have some old machines I like there so I may pop in on my way to Squeeze.


To slow my roll and stretch out my gambling budget, I got a free ticket to the wax museum and I booked a ticket to Ka (MyVegas) for Monday night. If I’m winning I might try dinner at Morimoto. After that I might play some MGM poker. I’ve only played in 3 rooms in Vegas – Venetian, which I loved, Planet Ho, which I hated (too loud and dark), and Flamingo, which was just meh. So we’ll see. I’m still intimidated by the Aria room. I want to play but I don’t want to waste my time sitting on my ass for 4-7 hours. Maybe if I have a stretch of insomnia I’ll play.

There is lots of free food in my future as the wonderful Bshowell gave me some Lettuce Entertain coupons that she could not use. Turns out my brother got the coupons too, so there will be lots of Mon Ami Gabi visits, and perhaps a burger/taco/margarita stop on our way to TI. Yum! Eating!

OK I’m just rambling now! Excited! Somewhere in all this I have to not fall off the rails with the ol’ exercise plan. Finally getting back into the routine of cardio and weights so I need to try and stick to it, especially with the amount of eating and drinking I plan on doing. Cosmo should have a really posh gym so I’ll check that one out at the very least.

I’ll be posting pics with my "vintage" android phone, so I will do my best but the pics may suck, and there often may be no understandable text explaining what you’re seeing, but I kind of like those reports with lots of drink pics and slot pics and pocket dumps, so that’s what I’m gonna go for. Sounds like a plan! I ran out of time when I stayed there but that bar looked promising & spaciousness of the linq casino!

 

Cosmo full gym is in the West tower. The East tower has a smaller one. I haven't been in the larger gym, but in the East tower the treadmills all face north looking out the window to the Bellagio fountains.

Sounds fun! I love the planned out cocktail list! I was thinking about doing something like that. I'd be less likely to get distracted and end up with my usual ol' Jack & Diet.
