been looking into getting one just for fun and guy that works by use was showing us his and I finally pulled the plug and bought one last noight, arrives wednesday and ill be learning to fly it

anyone else have one, pics or videos of your flight

besides me just flying it around the neighbor hood, going to use it for fishing when we go out deep in the gulf of mexico and make some money filming for local music videos for friends

only thing I hate is the 400ft ariel limit and too many no fly zones, lol

I have a cheaper one but it has a camera and takes decent quality pics and videos. On our last family reunion when we wanted a picture of us but wanted all of us in it, I flew the drone and took a picture of all of us lol
I know some of the more expensive ones are required to register with the FAA lol

My husband did but has switched to r/c airplanes - has some fun options (ALL over our house....) I know there are some in his flying club with drones. And helicopters. And.....Pretty much anything that flies ;-)

I do not have one but my son does. He just became registered with the FAA. He started out just being recreational but now uses it for his work. He really got some great pics. You do have to be careful as to where you fly it though. Lots of regulations and big fines. Be careful flying it in your neighborhood! Have fun with it!!

Registration is based on weight of the drone.

I received a Phantom 4 Pro for Christmas. It's a nice gift and while I think they are cool I just don't see myself using it.
I made my SO take it back. I mean she spent over $1,400 on it. And wouldn't you know the minute she took it back
she actually needed that money for something else.

I tell her every year not to buy me anything because if it's something I really wanted - chances are I'd already have it.

Even they have more leg room than Spirit! :poke:

My neighbor has one, he says "top-of-the-line." He used it to record a local town's parade and other festivities this summer.
    It's an awesome video.

Mine is for ages 8-12, purchased at Farm & Fleet on Christmas clearance for $12.

Just a slight difference between ranges on those two... :D

yea, for work or hobby it goes by weight "Any drone that weighs between 0.55 pounds (250 grams) and 55 pounds (25 kilograms) " , I had to register with the FAA, cost $5 for 3 years...I already have people wanting to film, now have to learn to fly which shouldnt be hard, lol and figure what to charge.

BTW, I went for the Yuneec Typhoon H pro...

I have one! Phantom 3 pro 4k.. Love it. Here is a short boring flight over Calabasas ca. It's been packed away for the last six months lol.. Bought all kinds of optional equipment. Think about taking it out all the time but never get to it. There goes $2500 I could have taken to Las Vegas..

    Sweet video, @Packer!

Our neighborhoods are just like the Beverly Hillbillies' neighborhoods.
Mine is the "before", yours is the "after!" :D

Nice Packer! I don't know how close you are to the ocean, but flying over the water and along the shoreline could make some pretty cool picks. But please, check the local regulations. I would hate to see anyone get in trouble for just trying to have some fun.

nice, waiting till tomorrow to come in, then get it all updated and setup...got a big package with extra stuff and through amazon, ended up being $1,599

yes you can as long as you are in a fly zone, they list the dos and donts on the FAA website...as long as you are not being an A-hole, most people wont care

I'm pretty sure Not allowed to fly "by law" on federal/national properties like National parks and so on. Santa monica mountains where in close to in la is illegal. But it's not like you are committing murder or something and rarely if ever enforced at least for now.

No one's life will end if not being able to vicariously tour a national wonder from a video screen in his or her mom's basement.

And while we certainly can't stand in the way of progress, privacy concerns always need to be front and center.

i love my typhoon H, didnt take long to learn to fly this one its really easy, only issue I have is,I had to send it in for a warranty repair. yuneec sent it to one of there outsouced repair shops which doesnt stock parts. so it sat a long time there and then finally when I got it back, they fixed one thing but broke something else. so yuneec now has my camera at their own repair shop. wont have it till i guess after I get back from vegas next week
