Best Suites for 4 guys during March Madness

Me and 3 friends are talking about doing a trip for March Madness, and kicked the idea of going in on a suite, something none of us have ever stayed in.

Some things we would want:

We don't want to pay for anything super crazy or over the top.

Prefer a CET place, due to our comps would make it cheaper, but MGM, Aria, Cosmo, Wynn/Encore, Mirage all would be considered as well.

We of course, would each want our own bed, if we each had a separate bedroom, that would be even better. i would also think 2 bathrooms, if not 2 1/2 would be the best.

We would care more about it being a fun/party type suite, than elegant/fancy.

 

Aria Sky Suites are pretty freaking good. I just got back from a stay there and have another one booked already. You could get a 2 Bedroom at a reasonable cost for each of you. They also do airport pickup and dropoff free of charge with their own private motor lobby. There's also a private lounge that has light breakfast and snacks plus non-alcoholic beverages free of charge. With Mlife status you can get a discount and if you signup using the RCL Crown and Anchor Society, they'll throw in a $200 resort credit too.

I stayed at the MO for one night prior to checking in at Aria. It's a nicer hotel, much quieter and impeccable service, but, call me crazy, that's probably not what four guys want during a March Madness LV trip.

 

Here is my old and tired comments.

Almost all suites have a king and not two queens.

Some might have an extra half bath, not all.

Some suites are just a larger room - maybe with a couch or a few easy chairs. But NOT with a door between bedroom and sitting area.

Getting a 2nd Bedroom anywhere in the hotel (along with the suite) will usually cost way less than getting a 2br suite. They are in short supply.

If you are going to be spending your time somewhere else do drink, what are you expecting from the suite? As to fun/party - what they offer SOMETIMES is a table,or extra chairs to sit around. Any suite with fancy kitchens, decks, pool tables, spas are often higher up the food chain.

CET suites are usually cheaper than MGM.

 

I would say check out Mirage Hospitality Suite. When I stayed it had 2 rooms,1 with a king bed, another room with 2 queens (I think that was the size). You can get them to add a rolling bed so that would give everyone their own bed. It had 2 full washrooms.

 

4 beds seems like a lot to me, but I guess I've never looked into it. I just went in January with a 3 buddies and had a suite at Luxor. It wasn't the nicest suite on the strip, but we had 1.5 baths, 1 bed and a big L couch. Obviously 2 slept in the bed and 2 on the couch and it was just fine. Not the best situation but it was comped, so no complaints.

Of course, it all comes down to how much you plan to spend a night..

 

Had a suite at Bally's a couple March madness' ago. Was a 1 bedroom (king) and a connecting room (2 queens). Each bedroom had a door separating it from the sitting room. Each bedroom had its own full bath and sitting room had a 1/2 bath. Sitting room had a couch, bar, dining table, chairs, 2 TVs. Room was nice. Casino not so much.

 

That sounds pretty decent.

If you are looking to watch the games at the property you are staying at then I would consider some of the casinos with nicer sportsbooks. (MGM, Mirage, Caesars Palace, Venetian IMO)

Palazzo and Venetian are all suite hotels. Your best bet is to get two connecting rooms. You are gonna be hard pressed to find a suite that has 4 beds on a budget. They do exist. But you would have to pay top dollar. Like $1000's per night.

 

Not to be a negative nancy, but I'd be curious what you can still book in two-bedroom suites this close to March Madness (without being insane on price). We booked a petite suite at Mirage in January and got one of the last ones for late March, MM is even busier.

Nostress has a great point on two bedrooms, even connecting. They'll be cheaper, and still available. (Plus, yes, most suites are kings. I want to bring my mom to Vegas later this year and have been running into this...)

adjoining rooms with 2 beds each might be the way to go. some of the standard rooms are pretty big these days. too much going on in vegas to spend a lot of time in the room.

 

For a party area the V/P rooms are pretty good. But very few of the rooms are real suites - meaning a door between bedroom and living area. They love to call them suites, but they are really large rooms with a living area separated by a step down and 3 foot railing. No door.

All this may not matter due to your dates. Have you checked the online rates yet?

 

If all else fails,think about the Rio and booking connecting rooms with two queens.Rio rooms are large enough to spread out a bit and you could rearrange the furniture in one to make a bar set-up.Sportsbook is not that bad either..but whatever you do better act fast..GL

7th Floor Penthouse Suite featured in MTV's The Real World. This Suite is 5000 sqft and comes with a full kitchen, large living room space, big screen TV, Pool Table, 3 bedrooms with a total of 7 beds, and a huge bathroom with large walk-in showers. There are 3 rooftop patios with great views of the Downtown area and the Goldspike back yard. The Real World Suite is also perfect for meetings, special group events or parties

 

For march madness, getting a suite is no problem. Even though its incredibly crowded during the first weekend of MM, its a not a High Roller crowd. So there are always plenty of suites available.

I will repeat what others have said about the beds. Getting four beds will be difficult, unless you really want to shell out the bucks (since the suites have king beds). You can either get a one bedroom with a two queen connector (three beds) or get a two bedroom suite with a two queen connector (four beds). But obviously that latter option tends to get expensive. If you go that route, I would recommend the two bedroom penthouse at Bellagio

 

You gotta put a max price on it, and your dates.

 

It's been years but one of the few options I've ever found in Vegas that could accommodate 4 guys with their own beds in one suite was at Elara. Believe it or not, they actually have 3 and 4 Bedroom suites with all king beds plus an additional sofa bed at a fairly reasonable rate if you are splitting with 4 people.

It's attached to Planet Hollywood so other than a longer walk to the room it's basically like staying at Planet Hollywood.

I don't know about March Madness though...that's pretty soon.

Another approach that works is to rent a 1 room suite for hanging out and then a few additional "regular" rooms for sleeping as needed. I'm presuming you want the suite for hanging out, not necessarily for having 4 dudes sleeping together.

 

At Cosmo you can get a wraparound with a Terrace one bedroom as a connector. It won't be cheap though. There is a two bedroom suite at Cosmo but doesn't have a balcony and it overpriced in my opinion. This all assuming you have no comps or offers at Cosmo.

Well, that does give you room to work with.

I think I gotta disagree with nostress about CET and suites. Their buildings are older and tend to have less inventory of suites than MGM. Every time I go to price one, the price is way out of proportion to what the equivalent room would be at an MGM property. With the exception of Rio maybe, where the Masquerade Suites are a relative value.

Mandalay Bay has a two-bedroom suite with two queens in one bedroom and a single king in the other; that's close to what you want but not exact. Someone could pull sofa duty. It also looks like it might be tough to book, not necessarily price wise but availability.

Aria's Hospitality Suites are baller - 2,000SF with it's own conference room and TV, but only a single king, so you'd be dealing with 3 rollaways (they were rolling out 3 beds the time I stayed in one). But the price would probably come in way under your budget, it's around $400-$500 on a normal night. You could conceivably get that, plus a 2 queen, plus a king and stay around $1,200.

But most likely, you're probably looking at either booking 2 queens with or without a connector, or getting a suite for game central and then booking 2 or 3 other rooms.
