Every Vegas trip we end up with tons of pocket change. On our last trip we got an idea when we get home we will start collecting all of our change and cash it out the day before we leave. Whatever it is we will take that and when we get there lay it all on black or red on the roulette wheel. If we win we double it & if we lose, well we lost our pocket chage lol. Any of yall do anything similar to this?

I just collect my change in a jar. Every year or so I take it to the bank and usually it's a bit over $100.

I collect all the change I get from anywhere in a Hinckley and Schmidt 5 gallon water cooler bottle. It takes me about 6 years to fill it up, but I've done it 3 times. All three times it was about $2300. I never miss the change going into the jar and it is totally worth it when I get a "free" vacation out of it.

My change usually comes home with me.

At home we collect change in one of those Luxor obelisk drink glasses. We used to use the 3' tall plastic drink container from the pool at Tropicana but I knocked it over and broke the top off of it.

I start saving all my one dollar bills about 2 months before I leave. I cash them in the day before I leave, and that's my first days gambling. Usually 2-3 hundred.

I just get such little change these days. Almost everything goes on a card. Over the years we've done what all of you do, but it has slowed to perhaps not even a trickle.

Save all my change, especially when traveling and roll it in coin wraps. Comes out to about $30-40/month and I deposit it in the bank.

I remember when my pocket change (quarters) actually fueled my Vegas gambling. Sit at the VP bar, ask for a ten dollar roll and a comped drink, break out two quarters for the tip. Good bartender offers me a second drink and I tip again, bad bartender insists I buy another roll and play five coin. Quarters that made it into my pocket found their way into slot machines. Now my coins gather in a glass bowl on the dresser which yields about sixty dollars when full. Except more recently my quarters find their way into the pinball machines at my local barcade. Vegas pocket change goes into my personal carry on bag which gains quite a lot of weight during my stay.

When I lived in California, before TITO, we would accumulate change for several months and just pack it with us for the drive. One time at the Plaza I hauled the bucket in and took it to the change booth and the counting machine jammed. They called a tech and he dug out a back to one of the missus' earrings. Ooops.

It's our last bet of the trip. We accumulate a lot of change with cashing out titos mainly. The change goes in a Crown Royal bag. On our last day we go the cashier together with the bag - hubby and I each give our Cashier the guess. The one who is closer wins the bills!!

I have a hatred of small change. Here in Canada we got rid of the penny and I don't know a single person who misses it. I honestly wouldn't mind if the smallest currency became a quarter as I can't think of a single thing I can buy for less than two bits currently.

There was a time in the late nineties when every Strip property had a 'signature' drink in a take home souvenir glass. My wife made me buy one every trip. Still have the Tropicana glass which occasionally serves as a bouquet holder.

I have a 3 gallon water jug that is filled to the brim with all pocket change and a ton of the .50 pieces you get from blackjack and there are a few bills in there also. I am itching to go cash it in and see what I have but I just can't bring myself to do it. Lol. Any guesses as to what the change only would add up to?
