Do you prefer to receive information via textual delivery or by visual (video and/or pictures) or by written word?
I enjoy trip reports that include visuals that make me feel like I am part of the experience and text that include me in the experience.

    I love pics and video,

but when I get that feeling, I want textual healing!

In general, I guess it depends on the information. I'd rather read than watch a video of someone telling me something. But if it's a how to thing like home repair, I'd rather watch someone do it.

When it comes to trip reports I like a combo of text and photos. I love to read people's experience and perspective on things. But nothing gives me that "being there" feeling like a good picture to go with the text. Food porn, night-time wanderings on the Strip, room views, chip porn... it's all good.

Probably depends on how interesting someone's trip is. I like a blend of textual and pics, but don't care as much on video. If I did a trip report though, and it was pics, it would be SOOOOOOO boring. I'd have to spice it up with some "textual healing", as Richard said. You'd just see wine, slots, food, and beddie bye! Then again, could be why I don't do trip reports. ;)

I often find video annoying on a board such as this or in a news report. What I REALLY hate is when they rig the video to auto-play at an earsplitting volume and it steps on something I'm actively listening to.

I love photos but hand or stick selfies get old very quickly. (Yeah I know, b*tch b*tch b*tch!) :)

Looking at the other way around, I use to be a technical instructor, and my goal was to craft my explanation such that my students could "see it" in their "mind's eye".

Usually, I was very successful, but there are some people that need to see an actual "thing" in order to visualize it.

I cite James Minchener the author as my inspiration for that technique.
