Through a lot of time and effort by Keno and myself, we created the VegasMessageBoard.com Countdown Timer many years ago. But, with the update of the board software came the idea to make it even easier to use, so we contacted a developer who helped us integrate the Countdown Timer into the user profiles. Now that we've updated to Xenforo, the setup process has changed once again.

The timer features 92 graphic backgrounds with the choice of 8 fonts that can be displayed in 12 colors. The timer is always a work-in-progress, and we may be adding more options in the future.

Special thanks to Char1, DReynolds86, Keno and multiple others for creation of the background images featured on this board.

We hope you all enjoy it :)

To set up the Countdown Timer, hover over your name at the top, right hand side of the board and this menu will appear:

Click on Countdown Timers and choose "Add New Timer" in the top, right corner. From here you can enter any text you want to display with your timer, choose the color of the timer text, the font, the background and enter the date and time of your arrival.

If you wish to remove an existing timer, go to this same page and select "Delete" under the timer you wish to remove.

Great job on the timers guys. You gave us a bunch of great options; they're all really pretty. I also appreciate you took the time to let us choose colors and fonts!

P.S. when my hubby starts getting a case of Vegasitis, he always asks me to pull up VMB so he can see what the countdown timer is at!
    :D:woohoo:

Kudos go to SH0CK for the original idea and following through, and then encouraging me to persevere through the difficulty with our developer. SH0CK and Char1 came up with and created the new timer backgrounds. It wouldn't have been possible without them. :nworthy:

I love that your husband asks you to pull up the timer. I'd be asking every day if my timer was as close as yours is. :) Have a great trip!

Are you getting an error? Does it show up when you save it on the vreaye timer page and disappear or does it not show up at all?

Hi Gang. I'd be happy to submit an image for the Mandarin Oriental. Please tell me what size image you need.

    I'll send you a PM.

For some reason, I thought we had one of these already, but I guess we don't... or I've misplaced the file somewhere. @Char1? Sonya?

The last thing this forum needs is more countdown banners. And I'm sure somebody has asked this question once or twice in the 40 year history of the forum, but I have been unable to find an answer.

There have been "March Madness" banners, IIRC. Have there ever been holiday banners, such as a banner featuring a turkey, Santa, an Easter egg or a pumpkin?

No. We've never done a holiday one. We've had a few event specific ones when the old crew used to do the March Madness or NSF gatherings.
