So, we had been having this discussion in another thread and I thought that the topic merited it's own discussion.

What has been the shortest and longest walk from check-in to your room.

I'm no spring chicken, so a long hike to be "inconvenient" at best and "annoying" at worst.

    For me, it was . . .

Shortest, Caesar's Diamond check-in to Augustus Tower

Longest, Mirage. I got the room at the end of the hallway, so from the Mirage check-in, through the casino, and all the way back.

For me, the shortest is always at the Orleans. I request room numbers ending with 77 or 78. These rooms are literally 4 steps from the elevator.

I always request nearest elevator rooms in any property I stay. I won't do the long hallway, never.

Howzabout we include walks from the garage or drop-off location to check-in? Some of those would give a marathoner pause! The walk from the garage to check-in and then room at Caesar's AC is quite lengthy. The Flamingo drop off to check-in is short, but I was given a Executive Fab that was so far from the elevator I could have made a sandwich on my way there!

MGM Grand has a crazy long walk if you get a room at the end of the hallway.

Exactly the reason I don't self-park at MGM Grand.

I like rooms away from the elevator. Between the elevator, ice machine, housekeeping room and people talking, just to much noise near elevators.

MGM to front-row West Wing rooms? Ifyou leave your car at the Spa Tower/reception entrance at the JW Marriott you're going to have a long haul to the Palms Tower. It was a bit of a haul at the Ritz-Carlton LLV when you had Club Level rooms in the faux Ponte Vecchio.

We are far-down-the-hall folks. Get us away from the elevators and as many other rooms as possible.

+1 on Mirage, but I would imagine MGM and Caesars can be pretty epic too. Forum Tower at Caesars might be the longest trip through the casino.

But yeah, I was in awe of the length of the hallways at Mirage, and the elevators are also not close to check in.

Mandalay Bay I was just about at the end of the hall and I am pretty sure the hallway was spinning like I was in the twilight zone it was so disorienting. Felt like a good setting for an action movie though. 2 hours to get to the other end complete with waves of goons coming out of each door. The Raid Redemption 3 starring Ching Li.

    Long:
Penthouse suite at the Mirage, end of the hall (to the left of John Lennon's head on the old window wrap).
Bellagio back tower wasn't much fun.
Got upgraded to Delano from MB check-in - that was a hike.
Manor rooms at Circus Circus - stayed there early 90's not knowing you needed to specify a tower room (still using a travel agent back then).

    Short:
    Vdara - cause no casino.
    Barbary Coast was easy.
NYNY not too bad if you get the right tower.

We don't use a car in Vegas so just estimating from front desk to room: NYNY was the first place I ever stayed, and our room was at the end of a hall. The distance itself was bad enough, but the hallway zigged and zagged every 4-6 rooms or so. So it was walk walk, turn left, turn right, walk walk, turn left turn right for what seemed like forever.

MGM was pretty bad too, plus their wheel spoke area when you got off the elevators always made for fun late at night after some cocktails. Trying to remember which hallway to take was a treat.

I agree 100%... It's a long walk to the suites at the end of the hallway!

Sams Town has a very short walk, especially if you get a room toward the front. Just around the corner, up the elevator, and around another corner.

Caesars Forum Tower (I think that's the one) is waaaaayyyyy at the other end of the casino from the check-in desk.

The most annoying one for me in recent history was at the Flamingo with a room, literally, in the North 40! Walk from the check-in desk to the Habitat Elevators, go up, then through a zig-zag rat maze, then around the corner to another long hall to the room.

I hate the walk at Caesars to Octavious tower or forum tower.

I usually request the room next to Ken's. :D We also request a room as far away from the elevators as possible, preferably
    one on an upper floor.

The walk from the South Point's garage to check-in is approximately a country mile.

LOL I may have to agree. That walk to the back tower is further than I think every time.

What about Signature? Isn't that one a hike too?

Shortest walk? California hotel. From the front desk you turn around and walk a few steps to the east tower elevators by the Buddha statue. go up and if you are lucky your room is right off the elevator.

    Longest walk? MGM grand .
Another long walk was at the old IP, go from the front desk and if you take the main elevators you have a circuitous route to get to your room. I had to do that once, it was so funny because after I checked out my room I walked around the corner the other way....and found a back elevator so I didn't have to do all that walking to get to my room.

Bally's. If you self park you have to walk to the parking lot elevators, through a corridor, down an escalator into that passageway that connects to Paris, then through the casino to the Check-In desks and if you are in the Jubilee Tower, through the other half of the casino and the coffee shop seating to get to the elevators.
