I was very dismayed/POed to discover today that Caesars Windsor has decided to close their Diamond Lounge from Monday to Thursday. (The days I typically get to visit) It will only be open from Fri to Sun and occasional show days.:cuss::cuss::cuss:
So if any you visit CW be aware.

I'd sure like to know the reasoning behind that!

    Cost cutting I assume.
Also trying to drive traffic into their other restaurants.

I remember in Vegas they weren't open but a few hours during the week, but in AC they opened early afternoon until about 8. No question the best DLs are in AC! Including especially the best food selection! I would imagine/hope that Diamond members that frequent Caesar's Windsor will complain long and loud about this!

The Vegas Diamond lounges are open every day of the week I believe.
None of this being closed for four days BS.

I never thought much about their lounge anyway, because it essentially has a $10 entry fee (1000RC), which I found absurd. Was not diamond anyway, but likely would not use it.

Overall, another annoying sign for the property though. Compared to 4-5 years ago, options on weekdays are seriously limited.

We were bummed too, but when you walk in and sit for 1/2 hour and no one else comes in I can almost understand. Maybe cut the hours from 4-8. Fortunately most of our trips are on the weekend so we can use it but it still sucks. As for the cost it was no charge if over 25,000 points and they have a nice menu for 7* which we enjoy.

I was never there when it was empty.
I am venturing a wild guess that there were some people who live downtown eating there daily.
I bet it just got too expensive for them to run.:(

There are a few Seven Stars guys who basically live in the poker room and wander down there for meals.

As for people eating daily and not playing, I doubt it with the 1000RC entry. Maybe a few people just over the TC min to get in free.

As for my guess as to why, a bit of it would be cost, but Mon-Thurs a lot of their traffic is also locals. And I am guessing they were finding that having the lounge cannibalized potential sales to their other diamond options.

But CW is weird. Someone there thinks cutting hours to things is the answer to everything.

It boggles my mind that Vegas Diamond Lounges close so early...The one in Biloxi does also. Casino towns don't even wake up until 10pm or so. Thank good was my own is Tunica where they have very nice hours. Even the Sam's Town Emerald Lounge is open till 2am, although they only open on the weekends :(

This sucks to hear. I've just booked our first stay in Windsor. We are planning to do the upgrade for diamond. I guess it doesn't matter that it is only F-S now since we have zero points so wouldn't be allowed in to the lounge anyway.

Question - if I had 2000 on my card could I pay for entry for two people?

Yeah, this has always struck me as odd as well. 9pm??? Hell, my home casino is the Horseshoe Bossier, and even that DL stays open at least til 11pm, sometimes Midnight....

Could someone explain how the paying for drinks works at the slot machines in Windsor? I've read you order your drink from the machine? I assume it gives you the price at that time. My question is do I have to pay the waitress cash when she brings the drink or could I charge my drinks to the room and get TR credits for them?

We have only paid the CW and I don't think the price shows up on the machine. Usually don't have too many but the service is pretty good. We have never thought about charging to the room as there are no comps allowed even on the backend. The Cosmo bar is a fun place to have a beer or drink and listen to some good music and it's right off the casino floor, will be there next Saturday....Rick

we just got back from Windsor and when you order at the machine you have to pay the waitress . There is no charging drinks to the room we did ask and were told that is only possible at the bars or restaurants . In Canada the casinos are not allowed to comp any kind of drinks . Windsor is a nice casino we enjoyed our time there but it can it costly if you like to enjoy a drink while you play . Cant wait till October to get back to Vegas where i can drink for free and smoke in the casino

Is their anything new on Spago's opening? They are way behind and when we were there in early July they were saying mid-August at the latest. Looking forward to a really good Italian alternative to Nero's................Rick
