So as a follow up to a separate post regarding a reservation issue that I had with MGM, I have asked for and given VIP Check In status upon my arrival.
My main reason(s) for asking was a customer service gesture because of the problem I had but mainly was to avoid a potential long check in line when I arrive on Saturday 3/25.
So the big question is...what can I expect as part of the VIP Check In? Is there a special entrance? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

    In advance...Thanks :

On the far left of the check in Area, at the start of the casino, there are two large double doors. This is the VIP check in lounge,
I last used this 2 years ago so things may have changed, when you enter on the left of the lounge, they have pastries ( in the morning) pretzels nuts etc ( in the afternoon) cupboards with bottled water, sodas, and coffee machines. This area has a couple of sofas, on the right through to another area are the check in desks, I remember 4 or so, where you sit to check in. They offered me a drink, champagne for me and beer for hubby.
When I had VIP check in the room keys had VIP check in on them and you're able to use the lounge for a coffee/water throughout your stay. I think I was only asked once to show my room key.
As I say it's been awhile but I hope this helps.

When I used the MGM VIP check in, I recall what Sam described. It has been a long time, however, so things may have changed.

All of this info is still accurate, except those 4 or so desks aren't actually checkin desks (that room is the hosts' office). They may sometimes help check people in when things are busy (although I have never seen them do it; usually they are busy with other work and/or socializing), but immediately next to the sofas is the checkin counter. You will see someone standing there checking guests in and out
