Hi everyone- recently received the menu selections for the 2017 signature events, and am thinking of booking for New Orleans September 27- October 1.
    My questions are :

    1. I see that the there is a 1-800 #to call to reserve an event- do I have to book by calling this # or can my host ( Vegas) reserve this for me ?
    2. I am thinking of booking my 7* retreat and joining it with this event - does anyone know if that is allowed? And if allowed, any impact on the event offer? do I still go through my host to book that part separately?
    3. I read somewhere that Harrah's Nola is quite small. The email offer states : 5 nights hotel accommodation at Harrahs New Orleans or a premium Partner Hotel...
My question is does anyone know what the "premium partner hotels are" and how far they would be from Harrah's and what are chances we would get bumped ?-( I know the email says bookings are on a first come first serve basis- but I am a realist and know that the higher adt guests would get better room choices.
    4. Finally, anyone else been or thinking of going - tips and pointers?

Thanks in advance - all my helpful fellow vmb'ers ! This is my first time as 7*, so everything seems so New and exciting...always wanted to get to New Orleans [emoji1]

Now I'll get back to making my touchdown dip before my hungry swarm of friends show up to watch the Big Game .... cheers

I will say that in my maybe 10 visits to NOLA, I have always stayed in the main hotel. I have sometimes seen times I could not get a room there and it listed one of the others. There have also been a few times where I got a room in my name just fine, but my wife (with lower ADT), got one of the other close by hotels.

I am guessing at your level of play, you will be fine. You can check it out by just plugging in dates on the rate calendar to see what is being offered.

My opinion on NOLA, save the 50,000 RCs that you get (instead of $500 folio credit) and pay cash for any partner restaurants. Only use RCs at 1:1 venues (such as Besh Steakhouse).

If you are renting a car, consider renting from a downtown location since you will have complimentary limo service to/from the airport. I would consider renting a car if you'd like to make a day trip to Biloxi.

Refer to my last TR to NOLA for additional details.

Yes, it is allowed to use your annual 7 Stars trip WITH the 7 Stars Signature Event. I do it every year, except that I don't fly somewhere, I just book Vegas, drive in, and have my host get me free play in lieu of the airfare. Using both won't effect the event offer in any way, except that you cannot double up on free room nights from each offer.

I haven't been to NOLA in over 5 years now, but I was only once put in a partner hotel and it was right across the street (can't remember the name) and I was put in a very nice suite.

I had considered NOLA this year and called and booked it (and then canceled and booked Vegas) and was given a premium king room, no suite. I spread my play around a lot within other casino companies, so I'm 7 Stars with an average of 200k tier each year. At other times, I would expect to get a suite there, but not during super busy times like this. But as you know, there is no guarantee on booked rooms, so it's always possible that you could be bumped.

I would highly recommend calling now and booking, though, because these events do fill up fast.

DaiLun is right about them giving you $500 in RC's instead of the folio credit. He's also right that there are actually very few restaurants that take RC's 1:1 -- most outside (of the casino) partner restaurants take them at 2:1, which in essence would only give you $250 in food. There is a list on the web site -- it's very long (lots of partner restaurants), but I highly recommend Besh inside the casino. The BBQ shrimp appetizer is enough for a meal, in my opinion, and it is delicious!

    Have fun!

good choice with new orleans, last few years it has been selected as the favorite of the 4 trips and most well put together one

as for the hotel, book now and you really shouldnt have a problem...your host can book everything for you...if you get on total rewards and it shows you rooms at harrahs then you are 100 and wont get bumped

as for the partner hotels, they are all within walking distance of the casino, furthest being less than 3 blocks away and IMO is the last one I would stay at...the hotels include: hilton riverside, lowes, Le Meridian, Marriott, sheraton, omni riverfront, and the westin...now I have got a last minute room one night at marriott which I dont recommend, when we got there, they were sold out but gave us $50 for cab fare to go 8 blocks to another Marriott property which was way nicer but not a partner, so you have many choices, but harrahs is the best hotel around hands down

the hotel is not super big, and junior suites are nice but limited as they are only in the corners of the hotel and on the 26 floor you have the big suites but are hard to get on that floor

I probally wont be attending the event but will be down there all week

Wow- Dailun ! You always have such fun adventures! Wishing you could be our tour guide [emoji2] . would love to visit Biloxi, but will not likely be renting a car , as I don't really like driving in unfamiliar territory
Love the fact that they load the $500 folio credit on your tr card

Thank you .. thank you ... thank you for your answer and your advice ! I will call my host this week to reserve a spot - I guess I will need to keep an eye on flight prices .
2:1 redemption is steep ! Really helpful to know - love love BBQ shrimp !
Is there a diamond lounge there? What is that like ? Do they serve finger foods like Vegas ?

Wow - really solid information coming from a resident expert[emoji106] thank you! I am sure that I will consulting your expertise as the trip draws closer.
I 'll check the website to test and see where I fit within the hierarchy . Given that it will be my BFF and my first time in the big easy , be good to be in the same hotel. Doesn't matter as long as it has 2 comfortable beds !
    Thanks again !

there is a diamond lounge behind High limit, it is called the palm room and most likely where you will find me, lol...the have limits that they say 4 drinks and 2 food plates for diamond and 8 drinks and 4 food plates for 7* but unless you are being a jerk they usually dont enforce this at all...now bars on the floor, if you are not playing but want a free drink, sometimes they will swipe and take a drink off the 8 you are allowed, most will just hold the card up to the eye in the sky and give it back

as for food, they do a small menu which every thursday they change a few items on...the spinach and crawfish dip and the fruit and cheese plate (which is huge) seems to always stay but they add different items with southern flavor

the lounge is small though so depending on times could have a short line, most people want a table, i will sit or stand at the bar...as a 7* you can bring you plus 3 extra people in

I've gone to Harrahs NO twice and both times they put me up in the Hilton Riverside. I was told about this at the time of booking. It is a very nice and close hotel to Harrahs.

We are going over Memorial Day weekend and love it. Last year we were put in a corner suite over the same weekend and it was just great. Also we eat at Mannings (it is the other sit down restaurant that is 1:1), very good sandwiches and appetizers. Love Besh's and the rib eye is worth the price...............Rick

They are also supposed to be setting up an additional (temporary) 7 Stars lounge during the event.

when they do the temporary lounge or have the normal lounge closed for whatever reason, the temp lounge is in the bottle service area of masquerade "ultra lounge"...its the back bar under the escalators

Just wanted to report that I have called and reserved my spot for the Nola event - When I checked the tr website, I qualified for premium river view or premium city view rooms. I requested a river view room, but the nice reservation agent said that I would have to request that at check in . At least we are definitely staying in the main hotel, so I am happy.
Am I correct to say that the river view rooms are the better rooms ?
I just need to keep an eye on flights now and contact my host to book and attach my 7* retreat to this event[emoji106]

The river view is really nice and the better view. It is a smaller hotel so if you get there late you might get a lower floor. We have stayed in a city view, meh, river view and corner suite. The river view room is nice enough for us............Rick

your rooms for riverview vs city are the same, its the view and its what you like to look at...now they have different room setups but it will say, "premium" "classic" ect

you will want to request a higher floor though, I have had rooms looking at the boilers on top of the parking garage and views of the lowes hotel next door...a city view is not bad though either...ill find a few pics shortly and you can pic the view you like and request it at check in

as you can see here, green roof to the left is harrahs, parking garage and boilers below...I think the garage is 10 floors so you want a room higher than that or that will be your view lol...this is obviously a south river view room

world trade center left and hilton riverside right

Yes, that's exactly what I read. I just couldn't remember at the time where, exactly, they said it would be. Thanks!
