Just got the following press release......sad to see it go as the pancakes were awesome!

    DU-PAR’S RESTAURANT & BAKERY AT

GOLDEN GATE HOTEL & CASINO TO CLOSE AT MIDNIGHT

LAS VEGAS – Due to financial reasons, Du-Par’s Restaurant & Bakery at Golden Gate Hotel & Casino in Downtown Las Vegas will close February 7 at midnight. A leased tenant of the historic hotel, Du-Par’s had struggled with payments over an extended period of time.

While the restaurant will be closed for the time being, Golden Gate is currently evaluating future opportunities for the space.

Not sorry to see them go. The old Bay City Diner was far better.

That makes me sad. That was my favorite place for breakfast downtown. Any suggestions for where I should go now?

Looking forward to whatever comes next! When they took over from Bay City Diner, the prices went up substantially, and most breakfast specials disappeared. Pancakes smothered in some type of fake butter seem to be very popular, but they were never my choice.

I'm told there's one at Suncoast. I've never even driven past Suncoast. I'm still bummed.

I'm just like you! I always procrastinated and now I'm pretty bummed. I love pancakes and always said someday I'll find my way there. I'm so sad I'm gonna fart.

So there will be no food at Golden Gate for the time being? Don't they need at least one 24/7 food option?

Never dined at the Vegas location, but I did stop by the Pasadena location when I was in the area for work. The pancakes were good, better than what you'd get at Dennys or IHOP, but definitely not the best I've ever had.

Big time bummer. I hope the next restaurant keeps the interior exactly the same. I loved the retro diner vibe.

What about the shrimp cocktail? It was a tradition for me to go to Golden Gate for the shrimp cocktail

Ate there a few times(either free or cheap), was vastly overpriced for downtown, would never have ate there otherwise. From what i saw it was never busy.
