Me: "For $30, I can get a keychain size breathalyzer!"
Her: "What are you going to use that for?"
    Me: "Vegas!"
Her: "Are you driving in Vegas?"
    Me: "Of course not"
Her: "Then why do you need it?"
    Me: "High score!"
    Her: "Oh. Carry on then."

Reminds me of when my youngest son was in Police academy. They needed volunteers to help train the students for sobriety testing. Requirements was to drink as much as you can in two hours and not be belligerent to them when they tested you.

Well you get a bunch of people together who have to drink the contest part starts by itself. I came in at .11 and was no where near the top. Top score was over a .3 afterwards we got to sit through the class where they went over their reports about you. Drunks in back giving High-fives to each other while their friends and families gave the reports on everyone.

I have one that is that size ... wow is it fun lol.
The only problem is you have to wait 15 minutes after any sip of alcohol to use it or it will read way higher.
who has that kind of time!??

it is Bluetooth and syncs with your phone via an app.. It gives you a chance to guess your BAC before it calculates it. Then saves that so you can see all of your guesses over any length of time.. clearly I under estimate the more drunker I get

I actually bought a "professional" one (BACtrack S80 approx $130) and had it sent to the Amazon locker at the Linq last July. I wanted one for home to always be safe, but also for returning home from trips. Since I usually have a couple drinks in airport lounges before my flights, then always have at least 2 drinks on my flights, I want to make sure I am legal to drive when I get home or to my rental car at my destination (whatever the case may be).

Well, when I went to get it from the Amazon locker, we'd already had several beers at TAG. I did not read the instructions and did not wait the required 20+ minutes before blowing. Needless to say, I got some interesting readings...

(Do not try this at home unless you are using a cheap one. When I finally read the instructions, it said that by not waiting the 20+ mins, you can damage the sensor and make future readings less accurate. Thankfully, BACtrack will re-calibrate it once a year for free if you send it to them, which is cool. I don't think I messed it up but I will definitely be sending it in for re-calibration this summer, just to be sure.)

Wait... there's an app? This just got better (worse?).

Umm... wow. Yeah, will definitely wait. Did a bit of prep research, and looks like a lethal dose starts at .35. So, if I somehow get to .25, need to stop to play it safe. Although pretty sure I'd pass out first.

We had one of my buddies convinced he was blowing into one of those contraptions a few weeks ago.
He was worried that his breaths were not going in at all.

It was actually one of those in-the-ear thermometer "guns". :goofy:
It was clean beforehand. At least we think so!

    Good times!
(Not much to do in our neck of the woods!)

LOL..... The point was I wasn't anywhere near that, it was just that I wasn't waiting the 20 minutes. That's how you get it to read way high, blow immediately after taking a drink. I was just trying to freak out my doctor friend and sending her pictures of it.... A legitimate .401 and I would have been way passed out and/or dead.
