I have always wanted to do this, just for fun. Place bets on every spot, and "own" the table.

Does anyone have any experience doing this? Any caveats, or any known restrictions, such as how many times the minimum they'll require you to bet to play this way?

Am also curious as to whether this is possible at the DD tables at Boyd properties as I am primarily a Boyd player.

Most places will require you to pace at least twice the minimum bet on each of the places, other than that, unless it's super busy you should have no problem

The times I've seen it, it attracted a lot of attention, so you'd have to be alright with people watching you play and hearing their comments.

Most every place I have played, only allows 3 spots max. If you play on a HL table, you do not need to double your bets.

    same
i haven't seen a table that allowed more than 3 hands to be played by one player

and yes, depending on the table limit, you may need to play for more than the table minimum or not

Saw a guy named Mr Po playing all the spots at Harrahs(with an H). Of course he was betting anywhere $5,000 and up per spot.
Had two guys in suits standing on his side...bodyguards

I would love to play all spots at the table at Pai Gow but I'm told that's not allowed, that the most you can play is 2 spots even if the table is empty. I would think that not more than 2 spots are allowed at Blackjack either (unless it's like the above where a High Roller is playing at the table).

Is there any reason (other than being suspicious of the player) why a casino wouldn't want a player to play 2X minimum on all spots at a table when the joint is dead?

Maybe they don't want you to see all those cards and figure out what the dealer has. I'm assuming you'd have to set one hand before you could look at the next one and can't change the previous hand once it's set but you'd still have a slight advantage if you saw the cards in every hand. Other than that they might not want you all over the place with all those hands because you'd have many more opportunities to use slight of hand and switch cards between hands.

    yes and yes

btw, for pai gow poker, i will only sit if the table is full
because i play the extra bet for the jackpot and envy
it doesn't make sense to sit at an empty table and let all those potential jackpot hands not be revealed
