Paris Insights

Staying at Paris first time next week:

1. What do I tell the cab driver to avoid getting ripped off?
2. Do all the rooms have in room safes?
3. Do the rooms have refrigerators for use or just for items the hotel is trying to sell?
4. What else?

 

"Paris, take Paradise", said very confidently and assertively.

 

And say "Paris with a P". Same goes with "Harrahs's with an H". It may be my Midwest drawl, but I've run into that twice with cabbies (but that was before Uber)

 

1. Airport to Paris, no tunnel.
2. Yes, all the rooms have safes.
3. Most rooms have converted have converted mini bars that are now refrigerators, the don't get really cold, but they'll do. One of the suites we had last year had a small fridge.
4. If you don't mind walking....ask for a P room, they're at the end of the hall but have 2 different views.

 

The only disadvantage with the old mini bars is there is no freezer section if you need it. Actually more ideal if you have meds that could potentially freeze & be destroyed.

Standard rooms don't have a coffee maker. Red (and I assume burgundy) do.

I have also run into the accent problem but that taxi driver confirmed which of the two he was going to.

I usually say to go in on Aubrie (is that the right one?-comes in off Paradise & that route from the back?). Had one insist there was an accident & he wouldn't go that way- took me up to Flamingo on a Saturday night with bumper to bumper traffic. Took over 25 min to get from Ellis Island around to Strip and down into Paris. Now I take the VIP Shared round trip $29 plus tip. Get anything from a town car to a stretch limo. Much nicer.

 

Or uber/lyft.

 

Would those of you who've stayed in both like to compare/contrast the PH Ultra Hip and the Paris Burgundy? Quite liked the Ultra Hip last time, next trip for me is the Burgundy.

 

1) Don't take a cab - period. Let me repeat - don't take a cab. Use Uber/Lyft. You know the cost of your ride upfront. Details here - https://www.uber.com/airports/las/ .
2) I have stayed at Paris 3 times in the past year and there was a safe in each room.
3) There was a fridge in each room. They were cold enough for beverages.
4) I agree with the others that said, "Paris with a P". The last regular cab I took thought I said Harrah's and we had an animated discussion about it.

 

Yeah I did the Ultra Hip last month and loved it - had it comped for this Monday night but just switched over to Paris Burgundy with Eiffel View comped. Paris is simply a better property.

 

Paris is my go to. center strip, small casino not over whelming, Barkeeps at Gustav's are awesome , connected to Ballys, short walks to Cosmo, PH etc

 

I like Paris. The only issue I have with it is, depending which way your room faces, is the music from the Chateau nightclub. The deep bass beat travels right through the windows and goes until the early hours of the morning.

 

I got a call from them before my last stay. They told me about the noise as I had a strip view room. I used it as an opportunity to finesse a better room, albeit without a view of the strip.

Are the suites and burgundy rooms both updated (redone)? Thanks

 

You really need to ask. The red rooms all seem to be. The last time I was there I checked in very late and they put me in a Burgundy room that was not remodeled. The next day I went to the Diamond Check In desk and they upgraded me to a P room and it was.

 

Well that is odd because the Burgundy designation is the newest remodel. They were just redone in 2016 in a lot of white with Burgundy accents. Sounds like you received a standard room.

Hmm, perhaps? I am fortunate enough to get comp rooms most stays. When I go to book a room I can't always find a Red room, but there's always a Burgundy available. My logic could be faulty, but I would expect that the lesser value rooms would vanish first.
