ballys was the only place that would comp me for the saturday before superbowl so giving them a try for the 1st night of my trip before i move to cosmo. Any advice on what to ask for room wise or anything good to do there? Or should i just grab my night of sleep and move on?
it never hurts to ask for a complimentary upgrade, with or without the $20 trick. a comped room on the Strip on SB weekend is nothing to sneeze at... way to go!
The Jubilee Tower rooms are newer with more space and modern furnishings. I like these rooms over the rooms in the Indigo Tower.
Bally's may not have much wiggle room, I imagine it's close to capacity that night. I agree your best upgrade would be ask or barter for a Jubilee room.
I like Ballys - casino has an old school feel to it and location can't be beat if you want to move around
I'd recommend grabbing a mimosa or even better, a Bloody Mary, from the hallway between Paris and ballys before check out. The little window across from the crepe shop is cheap and yummy. Assuming it's still there.
Jubilee rooms (South tower next to the Strip) are indeed a bit newer decor, but the Indigo rooms (North tower, off the Strip a bit) are just fine also. Unless you're super picky about decor or must have a view of the Strip. I prefer the North tower for getting a good night's sleep - no view, but I don't look out the window when I'm asleep. South tower rooms can be noisy from the clubs going on either side late into the night.
Other advantage to Jubilee... in my opinion, a more comfy bed, nicer shower, fridge and coffee maker.
When we stayed in the north tower with the kids (last min reservation no jubilee rooms left) the bed was soooo old and so uncomfortable!! The size of the room was big though and it was a lot more roomier than the jubilee rooms we normally get. Our view was of the High Roller. It wasn't bad but the bed wasn't comfy like the jubilee rooms
I have to say the beds I have had in Indigo have been extremely comfy, and if you get a room facing Ellis Island, you will have a mountain view as well as be able to watch the constant planes landing. Cool at night. It does have a small settee with table or chairs with table as well as a desk area. My rooms in Indigo have always been spotless, which I cannot say about my Jubilee stay.
